RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
APPROVING THE LOCATION OF A SITE AND FACILITY FOR
THE COMMUNITY PREVENTION CENTER
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Palo Alto, in recognition
of the growing problem of drug abuse in the community and in response
to the need for a comprehensive anti-drug abuse program at the local
level, has ~ccepted major responsibility for the coordination and
development of such a program in the City of Palo Alto and has
assigned this program high priority in terms of the commitment
of local resources: and
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Palo Alto has executed an
agreement with the Palo Alto Community Drug Abuse Board,hereinafter
referred to as "PACDAB", for establishment and operation of a com-
prehensive anti-drug abuse program in the City of Palo Alto; and
WHEREAS, one element of this anti-drug abu~e program is to
be a community prevention center providing counselling, informational,
educational, referral, recreational, and rehabilitational services:
and
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Palo Alto has retained the
authority under its agreement with PACDAB to approve sites and faci-
lities to be used for the Conununity Prevention Center: a.Ad
WHEREAS, PACDAB has proposed that a building at 418-420 Ramona
Street in Palo Alto be used for the Community Prevention Center:
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of
Palo Alto grants its consent and approval of the proposed site and
facility for the Community Prevention Cente~.
