RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
APPROVING A TENTATIVE SUBDIVISION MAP FOR PROPERTY
KNOWN AS 690 ARASTRADERO ROAD AND GRANTING AN EX-
~EPTION FOR LOT WIDTH AT THE BUILDING SETBACK LINE
FOR LOTS 4, 12, 13 AND 15 OF BLOCK 2, SUBJECT TO
CONDITIONS
The_ Council of the City of Palo Alto does RESOLVE as fol-
lows:
Pursuant to Title 21 of the Palo Alto Municipal Code, the
City Council hereby approves a subdivision of land for approxi-
mately 6.1 acres of land bounded by Arastradero Road, Hetch-
Hetchy right-of-way, Gunn High School and Green Acres Subdivision
No. 2, generally known as 690 Arastradero Road, and further
approves an exception for lot width at the building setback
line for Lots 4, 12, 13, and 15 of Block 2 of said subdivision.
The City Council finds:
1. There is more than the required land for the number of lots
proposed, but the existence of fan-shaped parcels at the
end of cul-de-sac streets does not lend itself to meeting
all requirements for lot dimensions.
2. Each of said lots will be substantially above the mini-
mum lot area required and each will have the required
sideyards and separation between dwellings.
3. The exception granted herein will prevent increases in the
size of streets, will provide mere usable open space in
rear yards, and will assure superior placement of build-
ings.
4. The exception granted herein will not Qe detrimental to
the public welfare or injurious to other property in the
area. Privacy will be assured to the same or greater
extent than if the parcels involved meet lot width re-
quirements. ·
The subdivision approval and exception granted herein are
subject to the following conditions:
l. Georgia Avenue, Georgia Place, and Georgia Court are
to be conveyed to tho City by separate Grant Deed.
2. A concrete sidewalk, curb and gutter shall be con-
structed according to city specifications along both sides
