'\ . . , OR~GINAL RESOLU1P-I0N -N& :-· 4619 RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE SPECIAL REFERENDUM ELECTION HELD ON JUNE 6, 1972, IN THE CITY OF PALO ALTO WHEREAS, on the 28th day of February, 1972, the Council of the City of Palo Alto, County of Santa Clara, State of California, by Resolution No. 4562 duly passed and published, did call a _ special election to be held in said city and to be consolidated with the direct primary election of June 6, 1972, for the purpose of submitting to the qualified voters of said city the following measure, to wit: and PROPOSITION K Shall Ordinance No. 2637 of the Council of the City of Palo Alto, changing the zoning of certain property on El Camino Real known as the Old Corporation Yard from P-F to P-C for development as a hotel complex and supporting ·facilities, be approved? WHEREAS, due and legal notice of said special election was given as required by law and by said resolutioni and WHEREAS, on the 6th day of June, 1972, at the hour of 7:00 A.M. of said day the polls were duly and regularly opened for said special election in said city and said polls were continuously kept open for said purpose from the time they were so opened until 8:00 P.M. of said day and during said hours of said 6th day of June, 1972, a special referendum election was held in said City of Palo Alto on said measure and in accordance with said res~lution; and WHEREAS, immediately thereafter said special referendum election was regularly and duly canvassed by the Registrar of Voters pursuant to authority given him by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Santa Clara by and as provided in said Resolution No. 4562 and -1- • the results of said special referendum election were duly declared as follows: Total qualified voters caating ballots (including absentee ballots) on Proposition X Votes cast in favor of said proposition Votes cast against said proposition 24,303 12,579 ll,724 NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does RESOLVE as follows: SECTION 1. That a special referendum election was duly and regularly called and held in all things according to Resolution No. 4562 of said City of Palo Alto, duly adopted for the objects and purposes therein specified and according to the laws of the State of California. SECTION 2. That a majority of the qualified voters voting in said special referendum election having cast their ballots wFor the Ordinance" as that wording is contained in said Proposition X, said proposition is hereby dec:lared to have been passed and Ordinance No. 2637 is hereby declared to be effective J\ine-6, 1972.
