HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESO 4586. . •• • ORIGINAL RESOLUTION NO. 4586 RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY CF PA!iO ALTO - AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 4406 TO INCREASE THE MEM- BERSHIP OF THE YOUTH ADVISORY COUNCIL WHEREAS, the Council, by Resolution No. 4406 adopted on December 14, 1970, did consolidate into one resolution the duties, powers, organization and procedures of the Youth Advisory Council, and WHE~.S, it is now desirable to increase the junior hiqh school membership from three to six students, thereby increasing the total membership fiom 12 to 15 members, NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does RESOLVE as follows: i.· Section 2 (Membership) of Resolution No. 4406 is hereby amended to read: "The Youth Advisory Council shall be composed of three high school students from each public high school attendance area, and two junior hiqh echool students from each public junior hiqh school attendance area as shown by the latest records of the Palo Alto Unified School District, who are residents of the City of Palo Alto. The term of members shall be one year. Members shall be· elected by procedures as agreed between the Youth Advisory Council, the City Manager and the Palo Alto Unified School District.• 2. Subsection (a) of Section 4 (Procedures) of Resolution No. 4406 is hereby amended to read: •(a) Juorumi eight vo~as for action• Eiqht members of the You Advisory Co~mcil sfi'iI'l constit.ute a quorum. Any action of the Youth Advisory Council, except adjourn- ment for lack of a quorum, shall be by the affirmative vote of eight members." 3. Except as amended herein, the provisions of Resolution No. 4406 shall remain in full force and effect as oriqinally -l - .. • •• written.
