' . ·~ • • • ORIGINAL RESOLUTION NO. 4584 RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO AMENDING RESOLUTION 2971 TO PROHIBIT PARKING ON CERTAIN STREETS WITH REFERENCE TO THE "ESTABLISHMENT OF CERTAIN BICYCLE ROUTES The Council of the City of Palo Alto does RESOLVE as follows: SECTION l. The map entitled "PLAN 'E'--BICYCLE ROUTES AND IMPROVEMENTS" is attached hereto and by reference made a part hereof. Those portions of streets, if any, designated on said map by its legend as a full-time bicycle lane are hereby desig- nated as zones wherein the stopping, standing, or parking of all vehicles, except conunercial vehicles while the driver thereof is actually engaged in business at the residence or place of business of a customer and there is insufficient off-street parking, is limited to five minutes; provided, however, that any existing restriction or prohibition of the stopping, standing, or parking of vehicles which is more restrictive than the above limitations shall prevail. SECTION 2. Those portions of streets, if any, designated on said map by its legend as a part-time bicycle lane are hereby designated as zones wherein the stopping, standing, or parking of all vehicles, except commercial vehicles while the driver thereof is actually engaged in business at the residence or place of business of a customer and there is insufficient off- s treet parking, is limited to five minutes between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. on any day; provided, however, that any existing res- triction or prohibition of the stopping, standing, or parking of vehicles which is more restrictive than the above limitations shall prevail. SEC~ION l. In order to impose the parking restrictions set forth on •aid map aa they affect existing less restrictive parkinq restriction• and prabJbi~ona, those portions of prior resolutions -l - J • • • • ' in conflict with this resolution and said map are hereby res- cinded. The remainder of said resolutions not in conflict with this resolution and with said map shall remain in full force and effect. SECTION 4. Sections 6 and 7 of Resolution 2971 and the Parkins Zones Map of the City of Palo Alto are amended accord- ingly, and the City Manager is authorized and directed to erect appropr~ate signs. SECTION s. This resolution shall become effective upon the installation of the appropriate signs authorized in Section 4 hereof. INTRODUCED AND PASSED: April 10, 1972.
