RESOLUTION NO. 4842
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
DETERMINING THE GENERAL PREVAILING RATES OF PER
DIEM WAGES IN CONTRACTS FOR PUBLIC WORKS FOR THE
CITY OF PALO ALTO AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION
OF SUCH RATES AND RESCINDING
{ADOPTED NOVEMBER 20, 1972)

WHEREAS, under the provisions of section 1773 of the Labor
Code a public body awarding a contract or undertaking public works
must determine the guneral prevailing rate of per diem wages in
accordance with standards set forth in said Code for eac~ craft,
classification or type of workman needed to execute the contract;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council has ascertdined dlld considered·
applicable wage rates established by collective bargaining agree-
ments within· the locality and in the nearest labor market area,
particularly the Santa Clara-San Benito counties Building and
~onstruction Trades Council wage scales;
NOW, THEREFORE, the COWlCil of the.City of Palo Alto does
RESOLVE as follows:
SECTION 1. The Council hereby determines the general pre-
vailing rate of per diem wages as of November 19, 1973, in· the·
Palo Alto .locality for ~11 public works under contract to be
that set forth in EXHIBIT A attached hereto and made a part
hereof by reference.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk is hereby directed to send-a
certified copy o; this resolution to the Clerk of the Board of
S~pervisors of the County of Santa Clara and said county is
authorized to publish said wage rates as required by law.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk is hereby directed to send a
certified copy of this resolution to the Director of Industrial
