A RESOLUTION OF PRELIMINARY APPROVAL OF ENGINEER'S REPORT
IX>WNTOWN BEAUTIFICATION AND LIGHTING
PROJECT NO. 71-80
RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Palo Alto, California,
WHEREAS, on August 20, 1973, this Council adopted its Resolution
of Intention No. 4812 to construct improvements in said City, and
did refer the proposed improvements to·the City Engineer, he being
the officer having charge and con~rol of the construction of public
improvements in and for said City of the kind described therein and
being a competent person employed by said City for that purpose; and
did therein direct said City Engineer to make and file with the City
Clerk a report in writing, all as therein more particularly described,
und~r and pursuant to the Palo Alto Improvement Procedure Code;
WHEREAS, said Engin~er has made 81'~.filed with the City Clerk a
report in writing as called for in said Resolution of Intention and
under and pursuant to said Code, which report has been presented to
this Council for consideration;
WHEREAS, said Council has duly considered said report and each
and every part thereof, and finds that each and every part of said
report is sufficient and that neither said report nor any part there-
of requires or should be modified in any respect;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED, as follows:
1. That th£ plans and sp~cifications for the proposed improve-
ments to be made, contained in said report, be, and they are hereby
preliminarily approved and confirmed.
2. That the Engineer's estimate of the itemized and total
costs and expenses of said improvements and of the incidental expenses
in connection therewith, contained in said report, be, and each of
them are hereby preltminarily approved and confirmed.

3. That the diagram showing the assessment district referred
to and described in said Resolution of Intention, and also the bounda-
ries and dimensions of the respective subdivisions of land within sa1ct
assessment district as the same existed at the time of the passage of
said Resolution of Intention, each of which subdivisions have been
given a separate number upon said diagram, as contained in said re:•ort,
be, and it is hereby prelimina~ily approved and confirmed.
4. That the proposed assessments upon the several subdivisions
of land in said assessment district in proportion to the estimated
benefits to be received by such subdivisions, reapectively, from said
improvements, and of the incidental expenses thereof, as contained in
said report, be, and th~y are hereby preliminarily approved and con-
firmed.
5. That said report shall stand as the Engineer's report for
the purpose of all subsequent proceedings haa pursuant to said Reso-
lution of Inten,ion.

I hereby certify that the foregoing is a full, true and correct
copy of a resolution duly passed and adopted by the Council of the
City of Palo Alto, California, at a meeting thereof held on the 11th
day of September · , 1973, by the following vote ot the members
