RESOLUTION NO. 4778
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
RECOMMENDING CERTAIN ADDITIONS TO, AND DELETIONS
FROM, ITS SELECT SYSTEM OF STREETS
WHEREAS, a select system of streets for the City of Palo Alto
has been established in accordance with Section 186.3 and Section
186.4 of the California Streets and Highways Code; and
WHEREAS, the Manager of Public Works Engineering has sub-
mitted to the Council of the City of Palo Alto a report and a three-
paqe map, said map beinq attached hereto and by reference incorporated
herein as though fully set forth; and
WHEREAS, said report recommends certain additions to, and deletions
from, said select system of streets which are warranted by changes in
traffic and land use patterns and other causes of equal necessity which
have occurred since said system was last amended; ar.d
WHEREAS, said map shows said additions to, and deletions from,
said system; and
WHEREAS, the Council finds the recommended changes to said system
to be necessary for the expenditure of apportioned Highway Users Tax
Funds in the manner and in accordance with the provisions of the
statutes1
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does RESOLVE
as follows:
SECTION 1. The co\incil of the City of Palo Alto hereby adopts
the recommendations -:ontained in said report and hereby adopts and
approves said map.
SECTION 2. The Council of the City of Palo Alto hereby petitions
the Department of Public Works of the State of California, in accordance·
with the provisions of Section 186.3 of the Streets and Highways Code,
to approve said additions to, ond deletions from, said system set forth
therein together with such modifications as said Department may find
necessary to conform to statutory requirements.

SECTION 3. The City Clerk Of the City of Palo Alto hereby
is authorized and directed to said a copy of th~s resolution to
the Department of Public Works of the State of California together
with whatever other documents the Manager of Public Works
Engineering deems necessary and advisable.
