RESOLUTION NO. 4769
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
COMMENDING AND COMMEMORATING SUNSET MAGAZINE (LANE
MAGAZINE ANJ"I BOOK COMPANY) ON ITS SEVENTY-FIFTH
ANNIVERSARY
WHEREAS, Lane Magazine and Book Company, publisher of SUNSET
MAGAZINE and SUNSET BOOKS, is celebrating the seventy-fifth
anniversary of Sunset publications; and
WHEREAS, Sunset publications encompass a wide variety of topics
concerning Gardening, Cooking, Hobbies and Crafts, Travel and
Recreation, and Building; and
WHEREAS, tqese publications have earned a well deserved reput-
ation for their high standard of excellence and quality; and
WHEREAS, Sunset publications have been instrumental in enhanc-
ing the quality and appreciation cf life locally and in the Western
United States; and
WHEREAS, the City of Palo Alto wishes to cormnend and commemorate
the seventy-fifth anniversary of SUNSET MAGAZINE.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City
of Palo Alto hereby extends its warm congratulations on behalf of
the citizens of t~G City of Palo Alto to Mrs. Laurence w. Lane, Mr.
L. w. (Bill) Lane, Mr. Melvin B. Lane, and all the employees of
Lane Magazine and Book Company in this seventy-fifth year of the
publication of SUNSET MAGAZINE.
