RESOLUTION NO. 4757 RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL or THE CITY OF PALO ALTO DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD ON MAY 8, 1973 WHEREAS, on May 8, 1973, a qeneral muniei~al election was duly held in the City of Palo Alto pursuant to the provisions of Section 3 of Article III of the Charter of the City of Palo Alto for the purpose of electing five councilmembers for a full term of four years expirin~ June 30, 1977 and one councilmember for an unexpired term ot two years expiring June 30, 1975; and WHEREAS, due and leqal notice of said_ general municipal election was given as required by law; and WHEREAS, on the 8th day cf May, 1973, at the hour of 7:00 o'clock in the morninq of said day the polls were duly and regu- larly opened for said general municipal election in said city and said polls were continuously kept open for ~aid purpose from the time they were so opened until 8:00 o'clock in the evenin~ of said day1 and WHEREAS, on May 14, 1973, the council of the City ~f Palo Alto met at their usual place of meetinq and did then and there canvass the returns of said qeneral municipal election and declare the results thereof. NOW, THF.REFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does RESOLVE as followsa SECTION l. The Council tinas and declares that: (a) A qeneral mu.-.icipal election was duly and regularly held on May 8, 1973# in all things according to the Charter of the City of Palo Alto, Resolutions No. 4702 and No. 4727, and the election laws of the State of California1 (b) The whole number of votes' r.iast in the City at said general municipal election, including votes cas upon absentee ballots was ~--1_6_1 _e_z_6 ______ ; -1 - -· • • (c) The total number of votes qiven and cast at said qeneral municipal election, including votea cast upon absentee ballots, was as follow• for the candidates for City Council: ROY L.
