HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESO 4727•• • ORIGINAL RESOLUTION NO. 4727 RESOLUTION OF T•:E COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO MAKING AMENDMENTS TO THE GENERAL PLAN AS CERTIFIED TO THE CITY COUNCIL BY RESOLUTION NO. 163 OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION ADOPTED C~ MARCH 14, 1973, BY DELETING THE BAYLANDS DEVELOPMENT PLAN (THREE-FINGER LAKE) WHEREAS, the Planning commission of the City of Palo Alto has duly prepared and recommend~d for adoption certain amendments to the General Plan of the City of Palo Alto, and the Planning Commission, &fter havinq held a public hearing on such proposed amendments on February 14, 1973, and March 14, 1973, pursuant to the provisions · : Palo Alto Municipal Code Section 19.04.080, has certified such amendments to the City Council recommending the~r incorporation into the General Plan1 and WHEREAS, the City Council has also held a public hearing on the adoption of such am~.ndments, pursuant to Palo Alto Municipal . ' Cod9 Section 19.04.080 on April 23, 1973, notice of the time al"d place of which waa published and given in the manner provided by law; NOW, THEREFORE , ,~he Council of tt.e Ci t.y· of Palo Al to does RESOLVE aa fellows: SECTION l. ·.rhe General Plan of the Cit.y of Palo Alto adopted ~ by the City Council by Re•olution Nn. 3616 and amended by Resolution Noa. 3709, 3713, 3839, 3855, 4017, 4302, 4457; and 4585 is hereby further amended by rescinding said Reaolution No. 4017 and making the following cha.n~ea in the General Plan: 1. The deletio" of the Three-Pinger Lake Plan by re110ving page• 47, 47a, 47b, 47c, •7d, 47e, 47£, and 48 and by deletJ.n9 the paragraph entitled "City-Wide Vacilities• from p~ge 63. -1- .. ., • • 2. The removal of the map entitled "BAYLANDS PLAN-4A-• followinq pa9e 47a. SECTION 2. Said Generdl Plan of the City of Palo Alto, in- cluding the General Plan Map, shall be endorsed to show th -.t the maps and deac~iptive materials contained therein have been so amended by the City Council of the City of Palo Alto. INTRODUCED AND PASSED: April 23, 1973 AYES: UNANIMOUS NOES: NONE ABSENT: NONE A'l"l'EST: city c!erJtt APPROVED: APPROVED AS TO CONTENT: > 7 / APPROVE~: -2- ... • • • RESOLUTION NO. 163 RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO RECOM!olENOING AMENDMENTS TO Tm.-GENERAL PLAN BY DELETING THE BAYLANDS DEVELOPMENT PLAN (THREE-FINGER LAKE) WHEREAS, 11pon the recommendation of the Planning Commission of the City of Palo Altc, the Council of the City of Palo Alto on August 7, 1967, did amend the General Plan of the City of Palo Al~o by Resolution No. 4017 to adopt the Three-Finger Lake Plan for the Baylands of the City of Palo Alto: and WHEREAS, the Plannil':.9 Commission of the City of Palo Alto has further studied the Baylands area of the City of Palo Alto since 1967: and WHEREAS , after reviewing the purpose , ecoloqical impact. < .!d probable cost of the Three-Finger Lake Plan, the Planning Commission finds that the Three-Finger Lake Plan is unnecessary to the primary flood protection purpose of the Palo Alto flood basin and that it is inconsistent with the goals of maintaining natural ecological processes in the Baylands and preserving the Baylands as a wildlife preserve: and WHEREAS, the ~ienning Commiasion_further finus that the Palo Alto flood basin still will be usable for a variety of recreational and educational purposes compatible with the purposes of flood control and wildlife preservation without the Three-Finger Lake Plan: and WHEREAS! the Planning Commission held a public hearing on the proposed deletion of the Three-Finger Lake Plan ·:rom t.'1e General Plan on February 14, 1973, and March 14, 1973, pursuant to the provisions of Palo Alto Municipal Code Section 19.04.080, notice of the time and place of which,waa published and given in the manner provided by law: -l- I I '•. • • •• • NOW, THEREFORE, the Planninq Commission of the City of Palo Alto doe• RESOLVE aa follows: SECTION 1. The Planning Commission recon;mends that the General Plan of the City of Palo Alto, adopted by the City Council by Resolution No. 3616 and amended by Resolutions Noc. 3709, 3713, 3839, 3855, 4017, 4302, 4457, and 4585, be f·.irther amended by re•cinding said Resolution No. 4017 and making the following chanqas in the General Plun: 1. The deletion of the Three-Finger Lake Plan by removinq page• 47, 47a, 47b, 47c, 4id, 47e, 47f, and 48 and by deleting the para9raph entit.,ed "City-Wide Facilities" from pa9e 63. 2. The removal of the map entitled "BAYLANDS PLAN-4J.:i.-" following page 47a. SECTION 2. Chairman of the Plannlnq Commission - -2- ( t • RESOLUTION NO. 4727 RESOLUTION OF ~HE COUN~IL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO NAMING ELECTION OFFICERS, DESIGNATING PRECINCTS AND CENTRAL COUNTING PLACE FOR THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON MAY 8, 1973 The Council of the City of Palo Alto does RESOLVE as follows: SEt:'l'ION 1. For the purpose of holding and conducting a general municipal election to be held in the City of Palo Alto on Tuesday, May 8, 1973, the City of Palo Alto is hereby districted and sub- divided into thirty~efght munici:i;>al 'election precincts, numbers 1 to 38, inclusive, as more particularly hereinafter set forth. Said precincts shall :Pe respectively composed of the territory included within those election precincts hereinafter specified as the sanie may have been constituted and designated by the County of Santa Clara fer general, state and county elections, as shown on maps on file in the Department of Registration and Election.'> of Santa Clare\ County, as of November, 1972. The Board of Elections for each murdcipal election precinct shall consist-of one inspector, -one judge and two clerks. SECTION 2. There is e~~~=hed hereto and incorporated herein as EXHIBIT A a list furnished by the Registrar of Voters of Santa Clara county setting forth the polling places of said el~~tion pre- -:, . \ cincts for said general municipal election, together with the per- sc·ns who shall occupy the respective offices that shall comprise .. the board of elections for each such precinct. SECTION 3.
