RESOLUTION NO. On
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
MEMORIALIZING THE TRAGIC DEATH OF JOHN FITZGERALD
KENNEDY, THIRTY-FIFTH PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES
WHEREAS, the p eople of this co untry and the w orld are
deeply shocked and saddened by the tragic d eath of our President
John Fitz gerald Kennedy; and
WHEREAS, the late P resident Ken nedy, the victim of an
assassin's bu llet, gave fully of his gre at talent and his h eroic
lea dership an d at all times perso nified the highest ideals of
American pu blic"se rvice; and
WHEREA S, ou r nation, ou r people and the people of the world
have suffered a grievous lo ss in the death of John Fitzger ald
Kennedy, a grea t and distinguished Americ an; a nd
WHEREAS, it is the sincere desire of the City Co uncil of
the City of Palo Alto to ex press on be half of this comm unity th e
profo und sa dness at the loss of our President.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Cou ncil of the City
of Palo Alto in meeting assembled this 26th day of No vember, 1963,
tha t we do hereby ex pre ss o ur great sorro w a nd rededica te ours elves
to the ideals a nd principles of pu blic service so ably demo nstrated
by our la te President, John Fitzgerald Kenne dy.
