RESOLUTION N40 . 3687
RESOLUTION.OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
AUTHORIZING AN APPLICATION TO THE STATE LIBRARIAN
FOR A REGIONAL PLANNING GRANT
WHERE'AS,, the 1963 legislature has adopted a program of
fin ancial assistance to libraries, incl uding pla nning grants to
finance planning for better and mo re economical op eration of
libra ries looking towards .improvement of service
NOW, THEREFORE, the Cou ncil of the City of Palo Alto does
RESOLVE as follo ws
SECTION 1. Tha t the Council d oes h ereby e xpress its
willingn ess to join with other public agencies which op erate
libraries in this and neighboring counties in applyi ng to the
State Libra rian fo r a "Planning Grant" in a ccorda nc e with th e
pr ovision s of the Pu blic Librar y Services Act, Chapter 1.5
of Division 20 of the Educa tio n Co de (Chapter 1802, St ets. 1963).
