A RESOLUTION APPOINTING TIME AND PLACE OF HEARING
PROTESTS. IN RELATION TO PROPOSED IMPROVEMENTS

AND DIRECTING NOTICE

RESOLVED, by the Co uncil of the City of Palo Alt o, California , that
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resol ution No. 3639, A Resolution of Pr elim-
inary Determination and of I ntention, adopted by the Co uncil of the City
of Pa lo Alto pu rsuant to the Palo Alto Improveme nt P rocedure C oda on
July 9, 1963, the City Enginee r of said City h as filed with the City
Clerk of this City the written rep ort called fo r under said Code a nd by
said Resolution of Prelimin ary Determination and of Inte ntio n, which
report has.been presented by said Clerk to thia Co uncil fo r considera-
tion , and this Council has considered and p reliminarily appro ved a nd
o0n firr:ed said r eport and ordered that the same stand as the report for
the purpose of all subsequen t proceedings had purs uant to said R esolu-
tion of Preliminary Determination and of Intention,
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED, tha t Monda y, the 25tb day of
November , 1963, at the hour of 7:30 o'clock P.M. in the
regu la r meeting plane of said Cou ncil, City Hall, Palo Alto, California,'.

when a nd w her e said Council will consider and finally act upon the
Engin eer's repor t u nder said Resolu tion of Pre liminar y Determination
a nd of Intention .
IT I3 FURTHER ORDERED that the City Cler k of this City be, and she
le hereby, directed to give notice of said hearing.by publica tion twice
in the Pa lo Alto Times, a newspa per pu blished an d circulated in said •
City, an d by conspicuously posting a notice thereof along all the open
str eets within the assessment district at no t mor e than thr ee hun dred
feet apart an d no t less tha n three in all; said posting an d first pub-
lication to be had and completed at least ten da ys befo re the date herein
se t for hea ring pr otests.
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that said n otices shall be hea ded "Notice of
Improv ement" in letter s of not less than one-half inch in height, and

shall., in legible ch aracters, state the fact and date of the passage of
said Resolutio n of Pr elimina ry Determinatio n a nd of Intentio n and of
the filing of said repo rt, and of the date, hour and place set for the
hearing of protests, and briefly' d esc ribe the improveme nts proposed to
be made, and refer to said Resolution of P reliminary Determination a nd
of intention and repo rt for furthe r particula rs,
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that the Clerk of said City shall mail or
ca use to be m ailed notice of the adoption of said Res olution of Prelim-
inary Deter mination and of Intentio n a nd the fili ng of said report,
postage prepaid, at least ten d ays before the data set fo r heari ng of
protests, to all persons owning real p roperty to be assessed, whose
n ames and addresses appear on the last equalized assess me nt roll for
City taxes prior thereto,' or as known to the Cle rk, which notice sh all
con tain a statement of the time, place and p urpose of the hearing on
said Resolu tion of Pr elimin ary Dete rmination and of Intention a nd r eport,
an d a statemen t of the total estimated oost of the proposed improvem ents
together with a statement that an y person interested may fil e a protest
in writing as provided in said Code.
