A RESOLUTION APPOINTINO TIME AND PLACE OF HEARING
PROTESTS IN RELATION TO PROPOSED ACQUISITIONS
AND IMPROVEMENTS* AND DIRECTING NOTICE
UNIVERSITY AVENUE DISTRICT
OFP'-STREET PARKING PROJECT NO . 63-2
RESOLVED, by the Cou ncil of the City of Palo Alto, California, that
WHEREAS, pursuant to Res olution No. 3613 of Preliminary Determi na-
tion and of Intention adopted on February 11, 1963 by this Co uncil,
pursuant to the Palo Alto Improvement Procedure Code, as ame nded, the
City Engin eer of this City has filed with the City+. Cle rk the written
report called for under said Code and by s aid Resolution of Prelimi nary
Determ inatioli an d of Intention, which report has been pr esented by said
Clerk to this Coun cil for con sideration, and this Council h as c onsidered
and pre liminarily appr oved and confirmed said rep ort and ordered that
the sa me stan d all the r eport for the purpose of all subseque nt proceed-
ings ha d pur suan t to said Resolution of Preliminary Determination and
of Inten tion.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT I3 0RDERED, tha t Monday, the 27th day of May,
1963, at the hour of 7:30 o'clock P. M., in the regular meeting place of
said Council, Coun cil Chambers, City Hall, Palo Alto, California, be,
and the same are hereby a ppointed and fix ed as the time a nd place whe n
and where the Coun cil will consider a nd finally determine whether the
public inter est, con venience and n ecessity require said a cqu isitions
a nd impro vements and when and wher e it will consider and finally act
upon the Engineer's r epor t under said Resolution of Prelimin ar y Deter -
mination an d of Intention.
IT I3 FURTHER ORDERED that the City Clerk of this City be, and she
is hereby, directed to giv e notice of said hearin g by publica tion twice
in the Palo Alto Times, a ne wspaper published and cir culated in said
City, and by con.epiouo usly postin g a notice thereof along a ll the o pen
str eets within the assessment distr ict at not more than three hun dr ed
feet apart an d not less than three in a ll; said posting an d first pub-
lica tionto be had a completed at lea st ten days before the da te her oin
set for hearing protests,

IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that :p aid notices shall be headed "Notice
of I mpro vement" in lette rs of not less than one-half inch in height end
'shall, in legible cha racte rs, st ate the fact a nd date of the passage of
said Resol ution of Preliminary D eterminati on and of Inte ntio n and of
the fili ng of said report, and of the date, hour a nd place set for the
hearing of all proteirte, and briefly desc ribe the acquisitions and
improvements proposed to be made, and refe r to said Resoluti on of Pre-
limin ary Determination and of Intention and repo rt for further
particulars,
'IT IS FURTHER ORDERED) that the Clerk of s aid City shall m ail or
oause to be mailed notice of the adoptio n of said Rosoluti on of Prelim-
inary Determination a nd of Intention and the filing of said r eport,
postage prepaid, at least ten days before the date yet fo r he aring of
said protests, to all persona owning real property to be assessed whose
nam es and addresses appear on the last equalised assessment roll fo,ft
City taxes prior thereto or as kno wn to the Clerk, which notice sh all
contain a statemen t of the time, place and purpose of the h eari ng on
said Resolution and report, an d a sta tement of the total estimated coat
of the proposed acquisitions and improvements, togetherwith a state-
men t that any per son in terested may file a protest in writing as pro-
vided in said Code.
I hereby cer tify tha t the foregoing is a full, true and correct
copy of a resolu tion duly passed and adopted by the City Council of the
City of Palo Alto, California, at a meeting thereof held on the 23rd
day of Apr il, 1963, by the following vote of the members ther eof:
