RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
ASSUMING CO-SPONSORSHIP OF SENIOR CITIZEN STUDY AND
AUTHORIZING DISBURSEMENT OF $1,200 TO COMMUNITY
COUNCIL OF NORTHERN SANTA CIARA COUNTY FOR SUCH,
PURPOSE
RESOLVED that the City of Palo Alto co-sponsor the
study by the Community Council of Northern Santa Clarai
County relative to the needs and problems o.f the elderly
living within census tract 113 in the City of Palo Alto,
that being the area bounded by San Franciequito Creek,
Middlefield Road, Embarcadero Road and Alma Street.
RESOLVED FURTHER that the City of Palo Alto contri-
bute the sum of $1,200 to the Community Council of
Northern Santa Clara County for the conduct of such
study, to be paid from the contingent account of the
General Fund.
INTRODUCED AND PASSED: September 28, 1964, by unanimous vote.

SPECIAL MEETING OF WWI 23, 1964
MRBAS, the Council of the City of Palo Alto in-
structed the Citizens' Advisory Committee on Rumen
Relations to "identify significant problems of human
relations in Ps10 Alto"; and
WHEREAS, the committee has identified the problems
of the elder citizen as being a significant one in this
regard; and
WHEREAS, the committee has not personnel or funds
adequate to research these problems in sufficient detail
to make complete recommendations to the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the Community Council of Northern Santa
Clara County has a program in hand to research these
problems in much greater detail; and
WHEREAS, such information is vital before any con-
structive action by the City Council can be entertained.
BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Citizens' Adviaory Committee.
on Human Relations respectfully recommends that the City
Council 'notate $1,200 to the Community Council of
Northern Santa Clara County for its fact finding study
of the needs and problems of the elderly in census tract
113 in the City of Palo Alto, extending from Middlefield
to Alma, and from San Francisquito Creek to Embaroadero.
