RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
GIVING NOTICE OF THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION TO THE CITY
OF PALO ALTO OF UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESCRIBED HEREIN
AND DESIGNATED "ARASTRADERO-MAYBELL ANNEXATION" AND
GIVING NOTICE OF THE TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING OF
PROTESTS THERETO
The. Council of the City of Palo Alto RESOLVES as follows:
SECTION 1. That, pursuant to the provisions of the
•Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939, a petition
signed by owners of not less than one-fourth of the land in
the hereinafter described territory, by area and by assessed,
value as shown on the last equalized assessment roll of the
County of Santa Clara was filed with the Council of the City of
Palo Alto on July 9, 1964, requesting annexation of the herein-
after described territory to said City.
SECTION 2. That the territory which the petitioners request
be.annex d to the City of Palo Alto and which said City, and its
Council propose to annex, is situate in the County of Santa
Clara, State of California, hereby designated "Arastradero-
Maybeli Annexation" and described in EXHIBIT A attached hereto
and by .reference made a part hereof.
SECTION.3.. That the County Boundary Commission of Santa
Clara County, California, did in session ally assembled on
June'l, 1964, approve the proposed boundaries of said "Arastradero-
Maybell Annexation" as above described, and as submitted to sad
Commission by the Council of the City of Palo Alto.
SECTION 4. That the Santa Clara County Local Agency
Formation Commission did in session duly assembled on July 7,
1964, approve said proposed annexation in the manntr provided by
law.
SECTION 5. That Monday, August 24, 1964, at the hour of
7:3U p.m: in the Council Chamber in the City Hall in the City
of Palo Alto, County of.Santa Clara, California, is hereby fixed
as the time and place when and where any person owning real
property within the uninhabited territory above described and
proposed to be annexed to the City of Palo Alto, and having any
objectiops to the proposed annexation, may appear before the
Council of the City'of Palo Alto and show cause why such
uninhabited territory should not be so annexed to said City
of Palo Alto. Such protest must be in writing, may be fled
at any time prior to final adjournment of the hearing on protests
.to the proposed annexation, and shall state the name or names
of the owner or owners of property affected, and the street
address or other description of the property sufficient to
identify it on the last equalized assessment roll.
SECTION 6. The City Clerk of the City of Palo Alto is
hereby authorized and directed to cause a copy of this resolution
to be published at least twice, but not oftener than once a week,
in the PALO ALTO TIMES, a newspaper of general circulation pub-
lished in said City of Palo Alto, the City to which it is proposed
to annex the aforesaid territory, and also in the SAN JOSE MERCURY,
'a newspaper of general circulation published outside the City
of Palo Alto, but in the County of Santa Clara, California,
the county in which is .located the territory proposed to be
annexed to the City of Palo Alto, said publication to be complete
at least twenty (20) days prior to the date set for hearing.
SECTION 7. The City Clerk is further authorized and directed
to cause written notice of such. proposed annexation to be mailed
to each person to whom land within the territory proposed to
be annexed is assessed in the, last equalized county assessment

roll available on the date t#e above said proceedings were
initiated, at the addresses shown on said assessment roll or
known to the Clerk, and to any person who has filed his name and
address and the designation of the lands in which ha has an
interest, either legal or equitable,, with the Clerk, such notice
to be given not less then twenty (20) days before the first
public hearing on the proposed annexation.
SECTION 8. The City Clerk is directed to cause written
notice to be given to such other persons as may be legally
entitled thereto, in the manner required by law.
Introduced and passed at a regular meeting of the City
Council held on Monday, .July 13, 1904 , 1964, by the following
vote:
AYES: Arnold, peahrs, Byxbee, Comstock, Cooley, Debs „Dias, Rodgers,
Rohr*, Rus, Woodward, Zweng.
NOES: Wane
ABSENT: Cresap, Flint, Porter.

ARASTRADERO - MAYBELL ANNEXATION
TO THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
A11 that certain real property situated in the County of Santa Clara,
State of California, and bounded by the following described line:
Beginning at the most Easterly corner of Lot 1, Tract No. 970,
Maybell Gardens, a map of which was recorded August 4, 1952, in Book 40
of Maps at page 1, Records of Santa Clara County, said corner being also
a point on the Corporate Limits Line of the City of Palo Alto and a point
on the Southwesterly line of Lot 11, Maybell Tract, a map of which was
recorded June 19, 1905, in Book "K" of Maps at pagee 88 and 89, Records
of Santa Clara County; thence Southeasterly along said Southwesterly line,
its Southeasterly prolongation and the dividing line between lots 10 and 23
of said Maybell Tract to the moat Westerly corner of that certain 1.921
acre parcel of land as shown upon a map entitled "Record of Survey of a
portion of Lot 10 of the Maybell Tract," which map was recorded April 10,
1964, in Book 176 of Maps at page 42, Records of Santa Clara County;
thence along the Northwesterly line of said 1, 921 acre parcel of land
N. 28" 48' E. 339.53 feet to the most Northerly corner of said 1.921 acre
parcel of land; said corner being a point on the dividing line between Lots
9 and 10 of eaid Maybell Tract; thence northwesterly along said dividing
line 316.84 feet, more or lees, to a point on the Southeasterly line of
Maybell Avenue, 40 -feat wide; thence northeasterly along said Southeasterly
line of Maybell Avenue 214.93 feet to a paint on the Northeasterly line of
said Lot 9; thence Southeasterly along said last named Northeasterly line
588.00 feet to a point in the corporate limits line of the City of Palo Alto;
thence along said corporate limits line Southwesterly, Northwesterly and
Northerly to the point of beginning, containing 5.82 acres, more or lees.
