RESOLVE aa follows:
( 1 )'Jhat 1 t 1a the judgmt~nt of this Coun.c11
that the development of the municipal water syat6m
or this City ahou.ld henceforth be baeed upon the policy
of ao~uiring water from tho Hetoh-Hetchy Valley for
e.ll. add1 tional aupply as aoon as such water ahall be
orou~1t to th8 P•n1uaula~
l2) That .it ia al•o the judgrMnt ot thla
Council that in obtaining euch supply of Hetoh-Hetohy
water the City should adopt the policJ or prooeed1ng
independently by direct purcha8e at reason.able ratea
from the City and county of San Francisco without
reliance upon any metropolitan or other water d1atr1ote.
(3) That the Board of Public Works be and 11
hereby requostod to conduct auch negotiations w1th the
proper authorities of the City and County of San
FNtnc1seo as shall aasure tho successful carrying out
of the policy of direct ~1rehnae and 1ndepend~nt action
h~rein approved by this Council.
(4) Ths.t the Board. of Public Works be and
is hereby request6d to prepare such eng1neer1ng.plan!
as shall be necessary for the introduction of water
from. the Hetoh-Hetohy transmission main into our
municipal srstem and 1ts eoonom1c~l distribution.

adopted by the Coup.c11 of the City of Palo Alto at a
special meeting An the 6th day or January, 1930,
by· the following vote:
