That it is the intention ot the couno11 ot the
C1 ty or Palo .Alto to ordt::lr the following work to be done,
to·w1t:
That all that portion of Southwood Drive in the
City of Palo Alto from the turning circle in said South-
•ood Drive to San Francisqutto Craek, deaet·ibed. as follows, be vacated and nloaed.

the northwesterly line of Southwood Drive and

'l'he Street SUperintendent shall po::t notice of
public work in the ma.nner and form as provlded by the
Street Opening Act hereinafter referred to. ana shall
also p1.1'blish a notice of said public work for a period. of
tem days in the Daily Palo Alto Times, a daily newspape:t:"
published and circulated 1n the Cit) of Palo Alto, and
whieh the Council hereby designnte5 as the newspaper 1n
which the Street Superintendent's notice ot the passage
of th18 Resolution shall be published.
All of the hera1n proposed work shall ba done in
pursuance oi' an Act ot the T,eg1slatura o£ the State of
Cal1for.tl1s., entitled ''An Act to Provide for the Laying
Out, Opening, Extending, Widening, ~traightening or Clos-
ing Up, 1n Whole or in Part, of any Street, Square, Lane,
.Alley, Court or Place within a Municipality, and to Con-
demn and Acquire any and all Lands and Property Necess-
ary or Convenient for thu.t Purpoee11 , approved March 6,
