THAT ~liEREAS, the Council did, on the 8th day of
July, 1929 • pass 1 ts Resolution of Intention No. 776 to
order the bere1nai'ter deaeribed work and 1mpro\•ement to
be made in said City, which Resolution of Intention was
duly and regularly published at the time and 1n thu
rnanner and :form as req,uired by the Iroprovem~nt Act of 1911,
e.s appes.rs from the Affidavit of Veronica Olofson, Principal
Clerk of the printdr u.:1d publishsi' C•f the Daily Pa.lo
Alto T1mea, now on f11~ in thd office of the Clerk of
the said City; and,
WHEFiSAS~ nct1cus of the passage of Resolution of
J.ntention No. 776, headed "Notice of Improvement'' were
duly and regularly posted along UH~ line of said contemplat~~d
work and. improvement, a.t the time 1 in th\3 manner and for-m
and in the nu.'11bers required, after the pas:H:~.ge of said ~.;,solut.1on of Intention as appears from the Affida.v,.t of
Arthur G. Jnmus and c. t. Blacker, who personally posted
the same, and who, upon compl•;;tion of the posting of said
notices fort;b.w1 th filed ss.id Affidav:t t inthe office of
the C1 ty Clerk, making oath that he completed the pos t.ing
of said notices on the llth day of July, 1929, and,
WHEREAS, there were no protests or objections
presented to ba disposed of, at the time and in the manner
and form as req_u1reJ. by law:

The City Clerk 1s hereby 1n:<trueted to post a
notice of said work, togetb.er w1 th th0 plans and s pec1-
.f1cat1ons th($refor, conspicllously, !'or five days, on or
near the council chamber door or tne City, 1nvit!ng
saaled propoae.ls or bids for doing the Y>Ork ordered.
Said Clerk le also directed to publish, twice, a notice
inviting 3UCh proposala or bids, and referring to th~
specifications posted or on file, in the Dally Palo
Alto '1'1mes, a daily newspaper published and c1rClulated
iil said Cl ty and hereby ddsignated for that purpose.
All sealed proposals or bids shall be accompan1eJ
by 11 cheek, payable to the City of Palo Alto, certified
by ~eapons1ble bank for an amount which shall not be
less thAn ten per cent of the aggregate of the proposal,
or by ll 'bond for-th~ se.id amount, and so payable, signed
by the bidders and two sureties, who shall justify before
any officer competent to administer an oath, in doublo
so1d ~mount, over and above all statutory exemptions.

before 8 O'clock P.M. on th~ 12th day of August, 1928,
