The Council or tho City of Palo ~uto DO RESOLVE as tollowe: THAT WHEREAS, the co~oil did, on the 14th day or Kay, 1929, pass its Resolution of Intention No. 747 to order the hereinafter described work and improvement to bo made 1n said City, which Rtlaolution or lntentlon was duly and regularly published at the time and in th.o manner and ~~rm as required by ti!e Improvement Act ot 1911, as appears from the affidavit of Veronica Olotson, frincipal Clerk of the printer and publisher of the ~aily Palo Alto Timea, now on file 1n the office of the Clerk of the said City; and, WHEREAS, notioea of the passage of Resolution of Intention No. 747, headed "Notice of !mprovement" wore duly and resularly posted along the line of said ~ontemplated work end improvement, at the t1~e, in the manner and form and in the numbera required, after the pas:Jage of' naid Resolution of !ntention as appears from the Affidavit of Arthur G. Je.mea, who personally posted thd same, and who, upon compl~tion of the posting ot said notioea forthwith filed such affidavit in the office of the City Clerk, making oath that he completed the poat1ng of said notices on the 20th day of May, 1929, and, ~~EREAS, there were no protests or objections presented to be dia~osed of, at the t1me and 1n the manner and form as required by law: NOW THEREFORE, this Council finds that the fore- going reo1tal or facts is true and that it has juris- diction to order the work done, and the council or the c1t1 ~r Palo Alto DO RESOLVE as follows: '!'hat the public 1rrterest and necessity J'lequire the wor~ hereinafter described, and the Council hereby orders the following work to be done and improvement to be made ln aa1d City, to-w1 t: -- 99 ~~ ;. :-J_ "' ~ :~ .~ ' "• ';~ ,, •· -~· .' ··' -~ ' .; ,~, ! ... All sealed proposals or blda shall be accompanied 'by a cbeok, payable to tne City or Palo Alto, certified by a reapon$ibl~~ bank for an amount which ahallnot be leaa than ten percent; ot the aggregate of the proposal, or by a bond tor the a aid amount, and ao payable, signed by the bidders and two auretiea, who shall justify before any otf1oer competent to administer an oath, in double.aaid amount, over and. above all statutory e.xttmpt1ona.
