STATING THE RESULT OF THE CANVASS OF THE SPECIAL ELECTION .......
HELD !N OUTSIDE TERRITORY FOR THE PURPOSE OF ANNEXING SAID
TERRITORY KNOWN AS SOUTH OREGON AVENUE TRACT TO THE CITY
OF PAW ~
The Council of the City of Palo Alto DO RESOLVE
as .follows:
THAT Vw'HEF.EAS, this Co·\.Ulc11 did, on the 22nd day
of .. Tanuary, 1929, pass its resolution calling a special
election for tho pur·pose of submitting the follow1llg
proposition to the electors of !-!&id territory, to-wit:
That it is proposed to annex to, incorporate in
and rr~onke a part of th•J City of Palo Alto, the territory
sought to 'be annexod herein described, tog-ather w1 th tho
proposition as pro~osed by the pettt1on of el~etors of
said territory on file, that said new territory shall be
annexed to,lncorporated 1n and made a part of said
rnun1c1pa1 corporation, and the property there1.n be, e.!ter
such annexation, subject to taxation equally with the
property w1 thin said mu.'l'lic1pal corporation to pay the
specified portion of the bo~ded indebtedness of said City
outstanding at the data of .filing of said petition:
'I'hat this Council finds t.hat said el<3ct1on was
duly co.l.:ed and held on Februnry 26, 1929, 1n accorda.nce
with en Act o.f the r.eg1Blature approved June 11, 1913,
as a.'tlended to date, in said out.aide territo':'y, and that
the elec t1on ret·u.rns of said elt~ction board have bean
d.\lly filed with the City Clerk of the City of Palo Alt~,
and are now before this leg1S:.O.at:1ve body at its sd;journed
regular meeting before the expiration of four days from
and afto;;,r the date of said election for the purpose of
this bocly canvassing the returns of aaid. election:
~:'hat this Council finds from the canvass of the
returns of said election held 1n saio territory proposed
to be armexed, that the total nW:'Iber of votes given and
cast tht:,re1n on said annexation was 61 votes; that the
total number t)f votes given and cast tne:rein for and in
favor of said annexation was 41 votes; that the total
number C)f votes p;iven snd cast therein against as.1d
annexa.tton was 20 votes:

pas a ad by the Council of tho City of Palo Al ro at 1 ts
adjourl'led regular meoting held on tho 27th day of
February, 1829, by the following vote:
