aa follow•:
'l'BAT WHEREAS, this Council did, on the 13th day
ot Auguat, 1928, pass it~ Resolution ot Intention No.
683 to order the hereinafter described work and
improvement to be made in aaid City, which resolution or intention was duly and re~larly published at the
time and in the manner and to rm as required by the
Improvement Aot or 1911, as appears !rom. the affidavit
of Veronica. 0 lofson, Principal Clerk of the printer
and publisher of the Daily Palo Alto Times, now on file
in the office of the Clerk of said City; and
WHEREAS, noticea of the passage of Resolution of
Intention No. 683, headed "l«)TICE OF IMProVEMENT",
were duly and regularly po3ted along the line of said
contemplat~d work and improvement at the time, in the
manner and form and 1n the number& required, after
the pa•sage of said resolution of intention, as apr~aro
from the arfidavit of Arthur G. James who personally
posted the same, and who, upon completion of the
posting of suoh notices, thereafter filed said affidavit
1n the office of the City Clerk, making oath thst he
completed the posting of said notices ~n the 17th day
of August, 1928;and
WHEREAS, there were no protests or objections
presented., to be d1spo.sed of at the time and in the
manner and form as required by law:
NOW, 'l'HEREFORE, this Couno:l.l finds that the !'ore-
going recital of facts 1s true, and that it has juris-
diction to order the work to be done, and the Council
of the City of Palo Alto :00 RESOLVE as follows:
That the public interest and necessity require
the work hereinafter described, and tha Council hereby
orders the following work to be done and improvement
to be made in said City, to-wit:

Serial bonds shall be issued ~r unpaid aaaeas-
ments, in the manner and form provided by the Improve-
ment Act of 1911 and aa stated in the resolution of
intention, reference to which 1s hereby made for
further particulars.
The C1ty Clerk is instructed to post a notice
of this work, together with the plana and specifica-
tions therefor, conspicuously for five days in all,
on or near the council chamber door of aaid City,
inviting aealed propoaala or bids for CSoing the work
ordered. The City Clerk is also directed to publish
twice a notice inviting sealed proposals or bids and
referring to specifications posted or on file, in the
Daily Palo Alto Times, a daily newspaper published and
circulated in said City, and hereby ded• ted tor
that purpose.
All eealed proposals or bids shall be
accompanied by a check payable to the City ot Palo Alto,
certified by a re .. ns1'ble bank, for en sm.ou:J,t which
shall not be leas than 10% of the aggregate or the
proposal, or by a bond tor said amount and ao payable,
signed by the bidder and two auret1ee, who ahall
just1fJ befOre any officer competent to administer an
oath, in double said amount over snd above all statutory
exemptions. Said sealed proposals or bids shall be
delivered to the Clerk of the Council of aaid City, on
or before 8 o'clock p. m.on the llth day ot September,
1928, said time being not less than ten days from the
time or the first posting and publication or the
notice of said work and inviting sealed proposals,
on which day and at which hour all sealed proposals

waa duly-and regularly adopted b;y the Council of the
City ot Palo Alto at a regular adjourned meeting held
ors the 29th day ot Aug.u·t, 1928, by the following vote:
