The Council or the City of Palo Alto DO RESOLVE
al!I follows:
THAT WHEREAS said Counc1.:. did, in c..pen seas1on,
on the l4th day of }e'brue.r1, 1928, publ.1oly open,
examine and declare all sealed proposals or bids for
doing the work and 1mprovament in said City, aa
doecr1b&d in Re•olution ot ~ntent1on 8608 of the Council or the City ofPalo Alto, adopted on the 9th
da7 of January, 1928, which resolution of intention
is bereb7 expressly referred to for turtl'J.8r particulars:
and,
WHEREAS, said reaolu.t1on of intention and the
apec1f1oat1o~a tor the work deaor1bed therein provide
that the material for the construction or sew0r pipe
should be one of two kinds of material, to-wit:
cement concrete sewer pipe or vitrified salt-glazed
aawer pipe; and
WHEREAS, said Council did on th0 2'7th day of
February, 1928, fi:Jf" Monday, th.e 12th day of March,
1928, at the hour or eight o'clock P. M. at the
council chamber in the ci,ty hall, as the time and
place when a.nd where sny-person shnll have the right
to appear and be heard upon the question as to
· .. hich r:iatel'ial, to-w1tt cement concrete sewer pipe
or vit:d.fied ~alt-glazed sewer pipe shall be adopted
tor the doing of said work and as to which proposal
shall be accepted; that notices of said hearing were
published in the manner and form provided by law,
in tha '.Daily Pelo Al to Timas, and said notices were posted
on the bulletin board at the city hall, for the time
and in the manner and form provided by law.
NOW THEREFORE, this being the time and place
for the hearing as to the selec tiort of material as
above stated, this Couno11 does hereby determine
that the material for the sewer pipe to be used in
the work hereinafter described shall be cement concrete
sewer pipe.
AND IT IS HEREBY FUHTHER RESOtV'r:D, that thla
Council does hereby r~jcct all proposals or bids
offered for said work, except that herein mentioned,
and hereby awards the contract for doing said work
and making said improvements, using cement concrete
sewor pipe, to the lowest regular responsible bidder,
at the prices mentioned in his bids as follows:

notice of aaid work 1n the Daily Palo Alto Times,
a daily new~paper cf general circulation published
and circulated 1n the City or Palo Alto, and hereby
designated for that purpose~ ea1d notice to be
made as provided by the Improvement Act of 1911.
l hereby certify that the above and foregoing
l'OSolut1on was duly end regularly adopted by the
City Council of the City of Palo Alto, at a regular
meeting held on the 12th day of March, 1928, by the
. following vote. Thereupon 1 t was filed in my o!.f'ico
on the same day, and afterwards duly recorded 1n
the Book of Resolutions.
