THAT WlmREAS, the Council of the City of
Palo Alto did, on the 9th day of' Januar,'., 1928,

This Council does hereby PUR7HER RESOLVE
that said sewer pipe to be used 1n said work
shell be one of two kinds of materials, to-wit:
cement, concrete sewer pip+;, or v1tr1f1ed, salt
glazed sewer pipe.
The City Clerk is hereby ins true ted to
poet a not.ice of so.id work, together wit:t the
plans and specifications therefor·, conspicuously,
for five days, on or near tho Council Chamber
door of the City, inviting sealed proposals or
bids for doing the work ordered& Said Cl.erk is
also directed to publish twice, a n~t1ce inviting
such proposals or bids under the alternative
pJ.an provided by Section lot of the Street
Improvement Act of 1911, and referring to the
specifications posted or on file, 1n the Palo
Alto Times, a daily newspaper published and
circulated in said City and her~by designflted for
thn t purpose •
All proposals or bids shall be accompanied
by a check, payable to the City of Palo Alto,
certified by a responsible bank, for an amount
which shall not be leas than ten oer cent of the
aggrega.te of th(1 proposal, or by a bond for the
said amount, and so payable, signed by the bidder
and two sureties, who shall just1.fy before 001y
officer competent to administer an oath, in double
said amount, and over and abov(;l all statutory
exemptions.
Said Sealed proposals or bids shall be
delivered to the Clerk of tht} Council of SAid City,
on or before 7:30 o'clock P. M., on the 14th day
of F'ebruary, 1928, said time being not less thtm
ten days from the tL:te of the first posting nnd
publication of the notice of seid work, And
inviting sealed proposals, on which day and hour
all proposals or bids shall be publicly opun~d by
said council.

was du.ly o.nd regularly adopted by th~ Council of
tho City of Palo Alto, at a meeting r~ld on the
30th day of January, 1928, by the followinf', vote:
