A RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO ANNEX TERRITORY
TO PARKING DISTRICT
UNIVERSITY AVENUE DISTRICT
OFF-STREET ?ARKING PROJECT NO. 52-14

RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Palo Alto, California,
that the public interest, convenience and necessity require and it 1B
the 1ntent1on ot said Council to annex the territory included within
the boundaries of 'the parking district formed pursuant to Resolution
of Intention No. 2411 adopted by this Council on Maroh 2, 1953 (known
as University Avenue D1str1ot Off-Street Parking Project No. 52-13)
to the assessment district formed pursuant to Resolution ot Intention
No. 2425 adopted by this Council on April 13, 1953 (known as University
Avenue D1str1ot Ott-Street Parlc1ng Project No. 52-14). Said territory
proposed to be annexed 1s more particularly described in Exhibit "A"
hereto attached and made a part hereof by reference.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Monday, the 23rd day of July, 1962,
at the hour of 7:30 o'clock P.M. (California .Daylight Saving Time) at
the Council Chambers, City Hall, Palo Alto, Cal1forn1a, are hereby
fixed as the time and place when and where said Council will consider
and finally determine whether the public interest, convenience and
necessity require the acqu1s1t1ona and improvements financed in said
Projeot No. 52-14 as to the property proposed to be annexed, and when
and where all persona interested 1n the annexation of said territory
to said district may be heard .
NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that at said hearing the Council shall
have the power to determine from the evidence presented whether or not
the public interest, convenience and necessity require the acquisitions
and improvements financed in said Project No. 52-14 as to the property
proposed to be annexed, and whether or not said territory will be
benefited by being annexed. On annexation the real property in said

territory, except all public places and ways in use in the pertormanoe
of a public function, shall be subject to annual ad valorem speo1al
aeaesaments to pay principal and interest on bonds or aaid district
outstanding at the time of annexation at the same rates at which other
real property in the district is assessed therefor, and shall alao be
aubJeot to all other l1ab111t1ee and entitled to all benetita ot said
district.
The City Clerk shall publ1ah this Resolution at length twice in
the Palo Alto Times, a newspaper of general circulation published in
said City, and cause a copy thereof to be posted near the Council
chamber door, the first of whioh publ1oat1ons and said posting shall
be at least ten (lo) days prior to said hearing. Not1oe shall also be
given by mailing copies of thie Resolution, postage prepaid, at least
ten (10) days before the date set for hearing, to all persona owning
real property to be assessed whose names and addresses appear on the
last equalized assessment roll tor City taxes prior thereto or as
known to the Clerk.

adopted by the Council of the City of Palo Alto, California, at a
regular meeting thereof' held on the 9th day of July , 1962,
by the tollowing vote or the members thereof:

Rodgers, Rohrs, Rus, Stephens, Woodward.

thence at right angles southwesterly 137.50 feet; thence
at right angles southeasterly 125.0 feet; thence at
right angles southwesterly 5o0.0 feet; thence at right

erly line of Lytton Avenue, said point also being the
southerly corner of Lot 34, Block 14, Boyce and Westall
Subdivision of Un1ver.s1ty Park, aaid lX'~nt also being on
the northwesterly boundary of the assessment district
described above; thence northwesterly, leaving the
boundary of said above-described assessment district,
along the northeasterly line of Emerson Street and
along the southwesterly lines or Lota 34, 33 and 32,
Block 14, Boyce o.nd Westall Subdivtsion, 75 feet to the
westerly corner of said Lot 32; thence northeasterly
along the northwesterly line of ea1d Lot 32, 112.5 feet
to the northerly corner of said Lot 32, sa1d corner also
being on the boundary of said above-described aaaessment
district; thence southeasterly along the northeasterly
