RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
DECLARING THE INTENTION TO ABANDON WCAS LANE
The Council of the City of Palo Alto RESOLVES as follows:
SECTION 1. It is the intention of the Council to abandon
the street. known. :as Lucas Lane described as shown on EXHIBIT A
affixed hereto and made a part hereof.
Said parcel is further described on the map on file with
the original copy of this resolution in the Office of the City
Clerk, reference to which is made for particulars as to the
proposed vacation.
SECTION 2. The City Council hereby determined that the public
convenience and necessity requires that there be expressly reserved
and excepted from portions of the street to be vacated pursuant
to these proceedings, unto the City of Palo Alto, its successors
and assigns, an easement for public utilities, sanitary sewer
and storm drainage purposes generally and without limiting the
foregoing permanent easements and rights-of-way f..Jr all the
structures and activities described in Streets and Highways Code
Section 8330, and as a part of said reservation City reserves t~
THE PACIFIC TELEPHONE AND TELEGRAPH COMPANY, a corporation, an
easement, to be used along with that reserved to City, to cons•
truct and install com.uunication facilities over, across, upon
and under port~ons of said street to be vacated, together with
a right of way therefor, the right of ingress and egress to and
from said facilities, and the right to maintain said easement
clear of structures and trees and other growths which impair or
interfere with the use of said easement. Said easements and
rights ·of way reserved to City and Pacific Telephone and Tele-
graph Company shall be in the entire portion of Lucas Lane as
described in said Exhibit A.

SECTlON 3. All costs of this vacation proceeding shall be

paid by PB.lo Alto Town and Country Village, Inc. (Job Order No .. /
6109).
SECTION 4. Monday, the 23rd day of July, 1962, at 7:30 p.m.
Council Chambers, City Ha.11, Palo Alto, California, is set as
the time and place of hearing where and when any person having
an interest in such proceedings may appear and present evidence
either for or against such vacation.
SECTION S. The Superintendent ()f Streets is directed to post
notices of street vacation conspicuously along the line of the
$treet or road to be vacated as described in Section 1 herecf at
least 10 days before the hearing, posting no more than 300 feet
apart and a minimum of three. Such noticee·shatl recite the
passage of this resolution and set out the time and place of
hearing.
SECTION 6~ 'rhe Clerk is directed to· ~ublish a copy of this
'res.olution in the Palo Alto Times twice prior ,to the date of the
hearing.
SECTION 7. These proceedings are taken under Division 9,
Part 3, Chapters 2 and 3 (Sections 8320 and following) of the
Streets and Highways Code.

at page 79, Records of Santa Clara County, California; thence .
along the Southeasterly line of said Lot 38 N. 70°47'E. 58.12 feet
to the Southwesterly line of Lot 39 of said Tract; thence S. 51°
45' E. along said Southwesterly H.ne 135:,. 98 feet to a point;
thence Southwesterly along a curve to the left, the center ·

of said Tract; thence along the southwesterly line of said
Lot 39 N. 51° 45' W. 208.36 feet to a point; thence soutlteasterly
along a curve to the right, the center of which bears s. 38°15' w.
f x·om said last named ~oint, having a radius of 40. 00 feet,, th Tough
a central angle of 78 27'41" for an arc length of 54.78 feet
to a point on the Northeasterly line of Lot 35 of said Tract;
thence along said Northeasterly line and it.a Southeasterly pro-
