WHEREAS,on:August 2$,1961, a petition was preasuted to the
City Council of the City of P alo Ali o requesti ng the co uncil to
give its consent to the commencement of annexati on proceedings
in co nnectio n with that certain i nhabited t erritory th erein
referred to and ge nerally described, which is c ontigu ous to the
City of Palo Alto ; a nd
WHEREAS, said petition was referred to the Planni ng Com-
mission of the City of Palo Alto for investigation, report and
recommen dation; an d
WHEREAS, the Planning Comm ission ren dered its report and
r ecommendatio n to the cou ncil on the 28th day of March, 1962,
favoring the c ommence ment of an nex ation proceedings; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Cou ncil to give its
consen t to the commence ment of such annex ation proce edings upon
co ndition tha t the electors w ithin said territory be info rmed
at the time the petition for a nnexation is circulated that the
question to be submitte d to said electors shall be /Mathe r the

NOW, THEREFORE, BE TT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Palo Alt o:
1. That cona*nt be a nd hereby is granted f or the comlaengement
of a nnexation proceeding!, i c onn ection with s aid inhabited terri-
tory in accordance with the Annexation Act of 1913, provid ed th e
petitio n for annexation contains a req uest that the q uestion to
be submitted•to the electors residing in 'the t erritory pro4obed
to be ann exed shall be whether the te rritbry ihali be annexed,
and the property in the territory subjected to taxation after
annexation equ ally with pr operty within the City of Palo Alto to
pay the bonded indebtedness of the City of Palo .Alto outatanding
or authorize d at the da te of the first public ation of the notice
of election for the acquisitio n, construction or completi on of muni-
cipal improvements; and the pro perty in the territory subj ected to
taxatio n a fter annexation to pay the amount of money herein after
fixed to repreeetit'the'value to the territory of municipal improve-
ments alre+idy paid for by city taxpayers.
2. That said:uninco rporated ter ritory be a nd here by is desig na-
ted as "El Camino An nexation No. 6" and is described in EXHIBIT A
attached hereto and made a part hereo f.
3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoptio n of this re solution.
