RESOLUTION NO . 3482
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
REQUESTING THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY
OF SANTA CLARA TO PROVIDE FOR THE CONSOLIDATION OF
A SPECIAL REFERENDUM ELECTION OF THE CITY OF PALO
ALTO WITH THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA STATE AND COUNTY
PRIMARY ELECTION TO BE HELD ON JUNE 5, 1962.
WHEREAS, on March 26, 1962, the City Co uncil of the City
of Palo Alto ado pted Reso lu tion No. 3481 entitled "Res olution
of the Council of the City of Palo Alt o Consenting to the Esta-
blishment of Or egon Avenue as a County Highway " a nd
W HE REAS, said resolu tion pr ov ides that it shall n ot become
effectiv e until approved by a majority of the electors voting
at a special e le ction to be held in the City on Jun e 5, 1962,
• a nd
WHEREAS, the State of California State an d County Prim ary
Election will be held on June 5, 1962, and it is the desire of
said City Council tha t sa id special referendum election of the
City of Palo Alto be conso lidated with said State and Co unty
Primary election ;
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does
RESOLVE as follows:
SECTION 1. A special referendum election is her eby ca lle d
to be held in the City of Palo Alto on Tuesday, June 5, 1962,
at which election the followin g proposed measur e shall be
submitted to the electo rate of said City, to wit:

Avenu e as provided in Reso lution No. 3481 requiring
a divided four -lane roadway, a fronta ge road to ser ve
ex isting properties on the n orthwest side, a planting
strip on the southeast side, a nd requiring the acqu isition
of approximately 90 parcels of la nd, the project to be
finan ce d by the Coun ty Bond issu e of 1961?

SECTION 2. The Board of S upervisors of the County of Sa nta
Clara is hereby requested to o rder th e consolidatio n of said
special refe rendum election with the State of Califor nia State
and County Prima ry Electi on to he h eld on Ju ne 5, 1962, ins of ar
as the City of Pal o Alto is concerned, and to fu rther provide
that within the territo ry affected by said order of consolidation,
to w it: The City of Palo Alt o, the election precincts, polling
places and vo ting booths shall in every case be the same, and
there shall be only one (1) set of electi on office rs in each of
said precincts and on ly one (1) form of ballot shall be used.
SECTION 3. Said Board of Su pervisors of the Co unty of Sa nta
Clara is further requ ested to cause to be printed on the ballot
to be u sed at said conso lida ted special refere nd um electi on and
State and Cou nty Primary Election , within the City of Palo Alto,
said City of Palo Alto measure in the form set forth in Section
1 of this Resolution, to be fo llowed by the words "For th e
Resolution" and "Again st the Resolution ".
SECTION 4. Said. Board of Supervisors of the County of Santa
Clar a is hereby further au tho rized to ca nvass the returns of
said election with respe ct to the City of Palo Alto referendum
resolution and to cer tify such canv ass of the vo tes cast for and
again st said referen dum resolutio n to this Council.
SECTION 5. The City Clerk is hereby au thor ized a nd directed
to ce rtify to the adoptio n of this Resolution and to submit a
c opy hereo f so certified to the Boa rd of Supervisor s of the Co un ty
of Santa Clara, and to the County Clerk of the County of Santa
Clara .

RESOLUTION OF THE COUNC/L OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
AMENDING RESOLUTION 2971 TO IMPOSE TWO HOUR PARKING
ON LOTS C, D, F, M, N AND 0.
The City Council of the City of Palo Alto d oes RESOLVE as
fo llows:
SECTION 1. Parking Lots C, D, F, M, N and 0 are designated
zone s in which parking shall be limited to t wo (2) c onsecutiv e
hours between the hours of 9:00 a .m . and 6:00 p.m., Sundays and
holidays ex cepted.
SECTION 2. Section 6 of Resolution 2971 and the Parking
Zo nes Map of the City of Palo Alto are amended accordingly .
