RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
AUTHORIZING THE COMMENCEMENT OF CERTAIN CIVIL ACTIONS
AGAINST CERTAIN ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURERS
AND THE EMPLOY MENT OF SPECI AL LEGAL COUNSEL
The Council of the City of Pal o Alto d oes hereby RESOLVE
as fo llows:
THAT the City Attorney be and he hereby is authorized and
directed to commence civil acti ons against any or all cert ain
e?ectric al equipment man ufacturers and suppli ers who pleaded
guilty or nollo contendere to criminal conspiracy for bid
rigging in the so-called Phila delphia cases to the damag e of
the City of Palo Alto and to prosecute the same to c ompletion,
such autho rity to inc lude compro mise or settlement of such acti on.
THAT the City atto rney be author ized to employ sp ecial
co unsel to assist him an d that the City Co ntro ller pay all counsel
fees, costs a nd expenses of such litigation as approved by the
City Council.
The above and foregoing resolution was intro du ced and passed
on the 8th day of January 1962 by the following vote:
