RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF AN APPLICATION FOR A
FEDERAL GRANT UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF TITLE VII OF
THE HOUSING ACT OF 1961 FOR THE PURPOSE OF FINANCING
A P9RTION OF THE ACQUISITION OF PARCELS E AND F
FOOTHILLS PARK
W HEREAS, the City of Palo Alto h as est ablish ed a program
to acquire and preserv e open -space l ands in ord er to meet the
future requirements of the community and to prev ent urban sprawl
and de terioratio n an d
WHEREAS, the Con gress of the United St ates has est ablished, •
un der the provisions of Title VII of the Housing A ct of 1961, a
program to assist local gov ernmenta l agencies to acquire su ch
open -space lands;
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does
RESOLVE As follows:
That the City Manage r be a utho rized to submit, in behalf of
the City of Pa lo Alto, an application for a grant to assist in the
fina ncin g of a cqu isition co sts of Parcels E an d F of Foothills
Pa rk under the provisions of Title VII of the Housing Act of 1961.
