The Couno 1l of the City of .Palo Al to do
resolve ae follows:
~hie Council declares that it is 1tu
intention to cause the census of the City of Palo
Alto to be taken by one or more suitable peraone
appointed therefor, by this Council, and for
anid purpose, th:i.e Council hereby appo1n·ts, -
The census ct the Gi ty of Palo Al to
shall, by the persons ao appointed, be taken of
all of the inhabitants of said olty, and in said
census, the fuJ.l name of eaoh person shall be
plainly written and the nsmes alphabetically
arranged and regularly numbered in one complete
seriee. Said censue takers shall perform such
other dut1eo in relation to ·said cenoue, ae may
be directede The censu.sf when completed. shall
be veri:f:l.ed by a.n officer authorized to
administer oath and be filed with the Clerk of
the City of Palo Alto. A certified copy of
such a ensue shall be prepared 'tiy the C 1 ty Cl erk
of the City of Palo A.l to, after being eo filed,
and shall be filed by him with the Seoretar; of
State of Cal 1 forn1a and thereupon the same shall
be known and be the official state census of the
City of Palo Alto.
