HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESO 3313KWHW:KIJ:mh 12-a- oC-1O 1 1 RESOLUTION NO. 3313 A RESOLUTION CALLING FOR SEALED PROPOSALS STREET LIGHTING FACILITIE S SAN ANTONIO AVENUE PROJECT NO . 59-4 RESOLVED, by the Cou ncil of the City of Palo Alto, California; that WHEREAS, the said Council did, on the 12th day of December, 1960, adopt its Resolution No. 3312 of Prelimi nary Determina- tion and of Intention to Make Changes and Modificatio ns, wherein; it deter min ed that the public interest, con venience and necessity r equ ir ed and it intended to order changes and modifications in the street lightin g facilities pro posed to be i nstalled pu rs uant to Resolution No. 3276, A Resolution of Preliminary Dete rmination a.d of In tention , adopted September 26, 1960, all as more pa rticul arly' descr ibed an d set fo rth in said Resolution of Preliminary Deter- min ation to Ma ke Changes and Modifications; NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED, as follows: 1. Modifie d plans and specifications for side lighting arc nereby preliminar ily approved. 2. The City Clerk of the City is her eby directe d to pu blish! by two successiv e insertions in the Palo Alto Times, a n ewspa per published a nd circu lated in sa id City, a notice inviting sealed proposals or bids for the con struction of said street lightin g im provements, a nd refer ring to the plans and specifications on file in the office of said City Clerk, the first of which publics . tions shall be at least fourteen days p rio r to the time fix ed for o pen in g bids. All proposals or bids shall be accompan ied by a ca shier's or certified check pa ya ble to the order of the City amou nting to ten per cen t of the bid, or by a bond in said amou nt and payable to sa id City signed by the bidder a nd a corporate sur ety or by the bidde r an d two sureties who shall ju stify befor e any officer c omp etent to administer an oath, in double said amo unt and ove r .I and above all statutory exemptions. Said check shall be forfeited or said bo nd shall become pay able to said City in case the bidde r depositing the same does not, withi n fifteen days after written notice that the contr act has been aw arded to him, enter int o a contract w ith the City. Said sealed proposals sh all be d elivered to the City Cle rk at a time to be fixed by the Clerk, said time being not less than ten day:; fr om the time of the first publication of said notice. Bids will be opened, ex amined and declared on s aid day a nd h ou r by the City Manager, in the Council Chambe rs, City Hall, who shall report. to the Council his findings, which findings shall be co nside red by sa id Coun cil at its first meeting following the opening of s aid bids. 1 hereby certify that the foregoing is a full, true and correct copy of a resolu tion duly passe d and adopted by the City Council of the City of Palo Alto, California , at a meeting thereol'l held on the 12th da y of Dece mbe r, 19b0, by the fo llowin g vote of the members thereof: AXES, and in favor thereof, Councilmen : Ba ll, Bishop, B yxbee, Davis, Evans, G iffin, Haight, Marshall, Mitche ll, N avis, Porte r, Ro dgers , Ste phe ns, Woodward, Zweng.
