ORIGINAL RESOLUTION NO . 3314) 441- it- 942-1 A 3SLb RESOLUTION ADOPTING A CO1PSN9ATIION PLAN FOR TES ,r 3 LL ci CF PLUG AIM The Council of the City of Pa lo Alto Resolvent BECTICN I Pursuan t to the City of Pa lo Alto classification and salary p rogr am, the following basic compensation pla n is hereby adopted and shall be ad- ministered by the City Manager, except as it applies to the individual position s of City Man ager, City Atto rn ey, City Controller, City Cleric, and City Asse ssor . SECTION II The compensation plan shall provide two types of salary ranges - the Classified Selery,Ran gss and the Administrative Sala ry Ranges lhio h ars made a par t of this section . Adminis tra tiv e Salary classification r anges are established with a m inim um and a maxiaw7n salary. The City Mana ger is authoriz ed to place per son s at any sa lary 'within the range assigned. Sa laries paid to personnel in either the Cla ssified or the Adsinie - tr ativ e program sha ll be administered in accordance with the pla n, OlAy Working Rulers an d Re gulations, and such directiv es as say be is sued by the City iianager from time to time fo r purpose of clarification an d inter- pretation. Ad vanoe ment to the follow ing step of a salary range may be gr anted f or continued impro vement and effi- cient service by the employee in the effective performa nce of his duties. Merit a dvancemen t sha ll follow the pr oueduree outli ned below. 1. W hen making recommendation for advancem ent or denial of an increase, the hea d of ea ch depar tment shall submit in formation suppo rting his actin. In ca aee where the employee is moving fr om Step D to Step 1, the depa rtment head shall su pport hie reooesnetdations with specific reaso ns for the final merit incr ease, and all euch recommendations shall be submitted to the City Manager for a pprova l. 2. In the event an increase is denie d, the action will be reviewed by the depar tment head with the employee oon ce rned. SECTION IV Eaoh employee of the City who has been a full time employee since Janu- ar ' le t of the cur rent year an d has been emplo yed continuou sly sha ll on Decem- ber 20th of each year rece iv e, in addition to his sa lary as prescribed herein, a sa lary a dju stmen t equal to one (1) per cent of his curr en t annual gro ss pay, SNCT/ON V Fo r spe cia l services listed below,, the followin g compensation is hereby establiehedt (a) Police Reserv es in Trainin g 35# per hour (b) Police Reserves on Regular Duty Pro rata of Step A Polies Officer's Salary Range. Compensa tion for overtime, standby, and holidays shall be in co nformance with the City Working Rule s and Regu la tione and Adm inistrative Dir ectives issued for the pur poses of cla rifica tion and interpretation.
