A RESOLUTION CALLING FOR SEALED PROPOSALS

FOOTHILLS ANNEXATION NO. 2 SANITARY SEWERS
PROJECT NO. 59-10
RESOLVED, by the Cou ncil of the City of Palo Alto, California, that
WHEREAS, the said Council did, on the 27th day of June, 1960, adopt
its Resolution No . 3230 of Preliminary Determin ation and of Intention
to order the construction of sanitary sewer mains, ma nholes, dr op i nlets,
flushing inlets, wye br anches, la terals, ejector station and pr essure
lin e an d appurten an ces in said City, all as more particul arly described and
set forth in sa id Resolution of Preliminar y Determi nati on and of
Inten tion ;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Clerk of ac id City is hereby di rected to
public twice in the Palo Alto Times, a newspa per published and circul ated
in said City, a notice in viting sealed pro po sals or bide for the construc-
tion of said improv ements, and referr ing to the plans and spe cifications
on file in the o ffice of aaid City Clerk, the first cf w hich publications
sha ll be at le ast ten days prior to the time fix ed for opening bide.
All proposals or bids shall be acco mpan ied by a ca shier's or certi-
fied check payable to the order of the City amountin g to ten per cen t of
the bid, or by a bon d in said a mount a nd payable to said City signed by
the bidder and a co rpora te sur ety or by the bidder an d two sureties who
shall ju stify before any officer com petent to admin ister an oa th, in
do uble said amount and over an d abov e all statutory exemptions. Said
check shall be fo rfeited or said bond shall become pa ya ble to said City
in case the bidder depo siting the same does n ot, w ithin fifteen days
after wr itten notice that the contract ha s been awa rded to him, en ter
into a contra ct with the City.

Said sealed proposals or bide shall be d eli vered to the City Cl erk
on or before 3:00 o'clock P. M. of Mo nday, the 8th day of August, 1960,
said time be in g not less tha n te n daysfr om the time of the fi rst publica-
tion of sa id n otice. Bids will be ope ned, exami ned and decl ar ed on said
day and hour by the City Manage r, in the Council Chambers, City Hall,
who shall report to the Council his findings, which fi ndings shall be
considere d by said Council at its meeting to be held at s aid plac e on
August 8, 1960 at 7:30 o'clock P. M.
