WHEREAS, under the prov1a.1ona or Chapter 173911 Statutes 1953,
the .Leg1alature h&D appropriated tunda from the State Highway J'un4
to the Public Utilities Comm11aion tor allocation to counties and
ci tj.eo for the oonatruction ot grade proteot1ona; and
WHEREAS, the City or Falo Alto desires to submit to the Public
Ut111t1es commis510n a request for allocation or funds ror protec-
t1or. at the oroseing of East Meadow Drive ever the Southern Pacific
Railroad traokn (Crossing No. E-33.0);
NOW, THE:fmFORE, the Council Of the City Of Palo Alto does
re~olve se follows:
l. ·rt~at the Mayor be and he hereby 1s authorized to execute,
tor end in behalf ·Of tbe City of Palo Al to, a Request for Allocation
or Funds !'rom the Croes1ng Proteotion Fund in the maximum amount of
~4,,500.00 for protection at crossing of East Meadow Drive over
Southern Fao:1f1c Railroad tracks (Crossing No. E-33.0).
2. That the City or Palo Alto shall hold the State ~f ca11r-
orn1a free :from damages result.ing from the construction of said pro-
ject and the maintenange ot the aamo.
