RISOLUTION URGING BOARD Oii 8URRVISO.RS
'I'O P.ROCEID WITH OONS'l'RUCTION OF
NORTHERN COUNTY OFFICE AND COU:RT BUILDING
WHERE.AS, there is an urgent need tor county orr1ce and court
fac1lit1eo in the northern part ot Santa Ql:ll#~,countyJ and
'WHE.R&AS, the County has beretotore purchased a parcel or
real property in the City of Pa.lo Alto w1 th the stated purpoee
of conetructing a northern county o.ff:l.ce and court buildi.ng at
such location; and
VHKRIAS, the county presented a bond issue to the votera 01·
Santa Clara County in 1955 and, 1n connection therewith, represented
tl1at pae:aage 01' the bondij would make other funds available for the
prompt conetruot:l.on 01· such a cour1t~· building; and
WHEREAS, the bond 1saue did pass, with the a1a of an over-
whelming atfil'm4t1 ve vote from l;he Palo Al to a1~ea;
Now. 'l1UEH!U10RE, the council of the City 01' Palo Al to does
resolve as follows:
'l'ha t the Council 01· the City of Palo Al to urgde trie Board or
Supervisors Of the County Of Santa Clara to proceed promptly with
all atepa necessary for tbe design and conatruction o1' a northern
county office and court building with moneys from the general fund
as was originally contemplated when the voters ot: the county paased
on tbe 1955 bond issue;
BE IT .l<'URTHER RESOLVED that 1!' addi t10.1"tal funds are necessary
for tile ;..ivenile Home tbey be obtained by another bond issue, not
by uae of general fund moneys.
The above and .roregoing resolution was duly and regularly
introduced and passed at a regular meeting of the Council 01' the
City of Palo Alto on Monctay, the 26tlL.. day of __ M_a~r_c_h~~·' 1956,
