RESOLUTION NO. 2644
RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE CITY ENGINEER•s REPORT AND ASSESSMENT
I.IST FOR WE.ED ABATEMENT.
WHEREAS, the C1ty Engineer han :t'1led with the City Clerk
h1s report and saseasment list for weed abatement aa provided in
Article 23 (a) of. Codified Ordinance No. 5; and
WHEREAS,., a heaI1.ng has been called for August 8, 1955, for
hearing any objections to said r9port and asaessment liat; and
WHEREAS, the City Clerk has published and posted a notice
or said hearing as provided in said ordinance; and
WHEREAS, pu.rsuant to said notice, a public hearing was held
on August 8, 1955; and
WHEREAS, !JO written or oral protests or nbject1ons against
said assessment for weed abatement were presented before or at
the time fixed for hearing and the Council having duly considered
said report and assessment lj.at;
NOW THEREFORE, the Coun¢1l Of the City of Palo Alto hereby
resolve3, finds and determines as follows:
1. That said aaae~ament list is in all respects complete
and correct, and 1a hereby confirmed, and that since the filing
thereof no assessments have been paid.
2. Tha.t for a partj,cular d~acr1pt1on of the lots bearing
the respective as3essment numbers set forth in said aaeeasment
list and upon which assessments remain unpaid, severally and
respectively, reference ia hereby made to said assessment list
in the office of the Superintendent of Public Works after aonf1rma·-
t1on by said Council.
3. That the unpaid assessments as shown on said list and
determined by said Council shall constitute a special assessment
against euch respective lots or parcels or land. shown therein,
a.nd shall constitute a lien against such p:r;-operty for the amount
o:t' such assessments until paid. The Asses&or shall extend and

enter the amounts or euoh assessments against the respective
parcels or land upon the 1955-1956 tax roll, upon which general
municipal taxes are to be collected, and they ehall be payable
with the first installment of aa:.d taxes and the City Tax Collector
shall include the same on the bills for auoh taxes. Thereafter
such amounts shall be collected at the sam.1~ tlme and 1n the ssae
1 manner as general c1 ty taxes are collected, and. aha.11 be a:ubject
to 'he same interest and penalties, and the same procedure and
sale in case of delinquency. All laws and or<.11nancea applicable
to the levy, collection and enforcement or city taxes are hereby
made applicable to such special asaessmenta.
The above and f'oregoing resolution was duly and regularly
introduced and passed 'by the Council of the City or Palo Alto at
