RESOLUTION NO. 2626
WHEREAS, Governor Goodwin J. Knight has indicated that he
may veto some twenty m1111on dollars 1n State P<irk Commission
projects recently approved by the State Leg1sla·ture; and
WHEREAS, included among said appropriations is the sum or
$125,000 for tne development of a state park and beach 1n Palo
Alto.; and
'WHEREAS, the construction of such a project would be or
benefit not oniy to the people or Palo Alto but to all residents
ot both Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Palo Alto:
l. That the Council urges the Governor to approve said
appropriation of $125,000 for the development ~f a state park
and beach at Palo Alto in the best iutereets or the people or
Palo Alto and the adjacent area.
2. That a certified copy of this resolution be forwarded
to Governor Goodwin J. Knight.
The above and foregoing resolution was duly and regularly
introduced. and paesed at a regular meeting of the Council of the
City of Palo Alto on Monday, the _13th day of ~~J_un~e ___ ,
1955, by the following vote:

Bishop, Byxbee, Cashel, Corcoran, Cummings, Drysdale,
Marshall, Mitchell, Porter, Rodgere, Ruppenthal, Simpson,
Wickett.
