WHEREAS, on May 2, 1955, a pe:~1t1on waa presented to the ·
Council or the City ot Palo Alto r 1aqueat1ng the Council ·to gi'J·e
ita consent to the commencement ot annexation prooeeding3 in con-
nection with that certain inhabited t~rritory therein referred to
and generally described which is contiguous to the City ot Palo
Altoj and
WHBRIAS, said petition was reterr.d to the Planning Com-
m1a11on ot the City ot Palo Alto for 1nvest!gat1on, report and
reoommendat1oi:t; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission rendered its report and
:recommendation to the Council on the 25th c1ay of May, 1955, tavor-
1ng the comaenoement or annexation proceedings; and
WHEREAS, the County Boundary Co111111aeion or Santa Clara
County has hereto.fore approved the proposed boundaries ot said
Embarcad.ero-Wildwo<'d Annexation as to d.efinitenesa and oertain·ty;
and
WHBRBAS, it is the desire or the Counci: to give its con-
sent to the commencement of such annexation proceedings upon
the condition that the electors w1th1n said territory be intoriued
at the time the pet1 t1on to:r• annexation is circulated that tbe
question to be submitted to said elactors sball be whether the
terr1 tory shall be annexed and the property in the territory s1.:b-
Jeoted to taxation after annexation equally with the property
w1 thin the 01 ty or Palo Al to to pay the entire bonded indebted··
neaa ot the Clty of Palo Alto outstanding or authorized at the
date or the tiling or the petition for annexation tor the acqu;L-
si tion, construction or completion or aun1c1pal 111provements;

NOW, THEREFORE, the Council ot the City of Palo Alto doeu
re~olve as follows:
Section l. That consent be and hereby 1a granted tor the
commenoemen·t or annexation proceedings in connection with said
inhabited territory 1n accordance with the Annexation Act or
1~13, provided the petition tor annexat~on contains a request
that the question to be submitted to the eleotors residing in
the terr1 tory proposed to be annexed shall be whether tt·' terri-
tory shall be annexed and the property 1n tbe territory sub-
Jected to taxation after annexation equally w1tb property within
the City or Palo Alto to pay tbe bonded 1ndebtedneaa ot tbe City
or Palo Alto ou_tstand1ng or au\i:~orized at the date of tbe tiling
or the petition tor annexation tor the acquisition, construction
.and completion of municipal improvements.
Section 2, That said unincorporated territory be and be:reby
is designated as "Embarcadero ... Wild.wood Annexation,11 is bounded
generally as follows: east or Wildwood Lane, south ot San Pran-
c1aqu1to Creek, west of u. S. Highway 101 By Pass and north o:r
Embarcadero Road, and 1a described as tollowa:
. Beginning At the point Of 1nteraect10n Ot the
Southerly line or Embarcadero Road with the Southerly
prolongation or the Westerly l1ne ot Wildwood Lane
{.t'ormerly New Lane) as said Road and Lane are shown
on that certain map entitled, 11 Map or the Subdivision or Lot #9 ot the Partition ot the Greer Landa in tbe
Rancho Rinconada Del Arroyo de San Pranc1squito, tor
tbe heirs or Robert L. Greer, t\eceased",, and which
aaid Map w&s tiled in the office ot the County Recorder
or the County ot Santa Claras State or California on
October 8, 1911, in Volume "L" of Maps, po.ge 48; aa1d
point also being an angle point 1n the present City
L1m1ts Line or the City ot Palo Alto; thence running
Northeasterly along sa1d Southerly line ot Embarcadero
Road and along said present City Limits Line ot the
C1ty or Palo Alto, to a point on tie Southerly prolon-
gation ~r the Westerly line ot that certe1n 1.00 acre
tract of land conveyed by E. M. Tobin, et al, to Alex-
ander Beltramo by Deed dated May 13, 1935, recorded
