RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO ABANDON EASEMENTS OVER
PORTIONS OF.LOT 1, BLOCK 1 AND LO~ l, BLOCK 2 OF
TRACT NO. 1055, BELL TRACT
WHEREAS, on March 24, 1953, the City oi.' Palo Alto acquired
easementi:1 over the following described property in the City of
Palo Alto, County of Santa Clara, State of California:
and,
Parcel A
Beginning at a point on the Southwesterly 11ne
of Lot 1, Block 2, Tract No. 1055, Bell Tract, re-
corded March 24, 1953, 1n Book 42 of Maps at page 21 Records or Santa Clara County> California, distant
upon said line N. 52• 00 1 w. 10 feet from the moat
Southerly corner or aaid Lot; thence N. 52• 00 1 w.
loo.6z feet; thence N. 38° 00 1 E. 10 .t.'eet; thence
S. 52 00' E. 100.67 feet; thence s. 38° 00' w.
10 feet to the point of beginning.
Parcel B
Beginning at the most Southerly corner of
!.ot l, Block 1, Tract No. 1055, Bell Tract, recorded
March 24, 1953, in Book 42 or Maps at page 2, Re-
cords of Santa Clara County, California; thence N.
52• 00' W. 109.37 feet; thence N. 38° 00 1 E. 10 feet;
thence S. 52• 00' E. to a point on the Northwesterly
line of Sutter Avenue; thence Southwesterly along
said line of Sutter Avenue 10 feet, more or lees, to
the point or beginning•
WHEREAS, said easements are no longer nec:essary f'or the
purpose for which they were acquired and dedicated;
NOW THEREFORE, be 1t resolved by the Council of the City
. of Palo Alto:
Section l. That it is the intention of the Council to close
and abandon the easements he:reinbe.t'or-e described.
Section 2. That any costs in connection with these easements
shall be paid by Mr. Howard Ruth, Jr., 2934 Cowper Street, Palo
Alto, California.

Section 3. That notice is hereby given that Monday, the
25th day of April, 1955, at the hour of 7:30 p.m., at the Coun-
cil Chambers of the City Council or said City, in the City Hall,
Palo Alto, California, be and the same is hereby set as the day,
hour and place where and when any and all persons having any
objections to the proposed abandonment may appear before said
Council and show cause why said easements should not be. aban-
doned •
.§!ction 4. That the Palo Alto Times,, a daily newspaper of
general c1r·c~ulatio11 publishe-.:. and circulated in the C1ty of Palo
Alto, is hereby designated as the ne,.-apape:r in which the City
Clerk of the City of Palo Alto shall caut:ie to be published in
the manner and form required by law a copy of th1a ?~solution of
intention, by cc.using the same to be published in said newspaper
for at least two (2) successive weeks prior to the date of the
hear1ng or objections to the propose~ abandonment.
Sect~-That the Superintendent of Streets of the said
City of Palo Alto shall cause to be conspicuously posted along
the line of the easements proposeu to be vacated notices of the
passage of this resolution of intention. Said notices shall be
posted not more than 300 i'eet apart but at leaHt three (3)
notices shall be posted.
For further information as to the location aud description
of the easements to be vacated., reference 1s made to a map en-
t1 tled 11 Pro:;iosed Abandonment of 10 1 P.U.E. along the Southwest-
erly Line or Lot 1, Block l and Lot 1, Block 2 of Tract 1055,
Bell Tract,, Palo Alto,, California,11 dated .March, 1955, being
Drawing No. 1048 01' Calvin M. Jones, Civil Engineer, attached
hereto and made a part hereof.
The above and foregoing resolutior1 was duly and regularly
