RESOLUTION DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE
SPECIAL ELECTION HELD IN THE CITY OF PALO ALTO,
COUNTY OF SANTA CLARA, STATE OF CALLFORNIA, ON
JUNE 8, 1954, UPON THE QUESTION OF INCURRING A
BONDED INDEBTEDNESS FOR THE ENLARGEMENT AND
BETTERMENT OF THE PAL~ ALTO HOSPITAL.
WHERiAS, on the 22nd day of March, l95h, the Council of
the City of Palo Alto, County ot Santa Clara, State of Calif-
ornia, by Ordinance No. 1531 duly passed and puolished, did
call a special election to be held in said City and to be con-
solidated with the State and County Primary Election on the
8th day of June, 1954, for the purpose of submitti~g to the
• qualified voters of said City the following proposition:
CITY OF PALO ALTO BOND PROPOSITION

Shall the City of Palo Alto incur a bot~ed indebted-
ness in tho principal sum of Four Millie~ Dollars
{$4,000,000) for the object and purpcae of acquiring;
constructing and completing the~'ollowing municipal
improvement, to wit: the enlargement and bettezment of
the Palo Alto Hospital, including the construction of
an addition or additions thereto?;
and • •
• WHEREAS, due and legal. notice or said special ele..::cion was
given as. required by law ancl by said ordinaJtce; and •
WHEREAS, on the 8th day of June, 1954, at the hour of seven
• o'clock in the morning of said day, the polls were duly and regu-
larly opened for said special election in said City, and said
• polls were ~ontinuously kept open for said pu1~0se from the ti1ne
they were so opened until seven o'clock of the afternoon of said
day, and during said hours cf said 8th day or June, 1954, a .

WHEREAS, immediately thereafter said special election was
regularly and duly canvaesed .,by the Board of Supervisors of t~e
