ORDERING ABANDONMENTS
HIGH STREET EXTENSION, ET AL

RZSOLVED, by the Council of the City of .?alo Alto, California,
WHEREAS, said Council did on the 9th day of August, 1948,
adopt its Resolution of Intention No. 1738 to order certain
Requisitions and abandonments or ~asements for street purooses,
to be made in said City, under anc pursuant to Article III of
Or-dinance No. 844 of s"'j.d City, adopted .Janua1•v 13, 1941, II • ri entitled Palo Alto Imorovement Procedure Code , reference to
whlch Resolution of Intention 1e hereby made for 1l particular
description of the acquisitions and abandonments to be made;
WHEREAS, on June 22, 1953, said Council adopted Resolution
No. 24~;6 of Preliminary Aoproval and Resolution No. 2457 of
Intention to Make Abandonmente, wherein said Council expreseed
its intention to make further abandonments and fixed Monday,
,J•lly 13, 19'-.>3, at the time of 7:3C P.M., in the Council
Chamber~, City Hall, ?alo Alto, California~ as the time and
qlace when and where any and all persons having any objections
to the 9roposed sbandonments might appear before eaid Council
nnd show cause wliy said proposed abandonments shoulcl not be
carried out in accordance with said Reaolution of Intention.
vYHEREAS, said Resolutions of' Intention have been duly ~ublished twice in the Palo Alto Times, a newspaper of general
circulation orinted and publish~d in said City, wherein all
oersona interest~d, having any objections to the proposed
acq•Jisi t1on and ::1bnndonments, or to the engineer's estj.mete
of the costa and expenses thereof~ were notified of the time

vHiERBAS, at t!le tirne and place fixed for said hearings,
no protests or objections were made or presented to the pro-
90sed acquisitions and abandonments, or to the engineer's
estimate of the costs ond expenses thereof, and all persons
interested desiring to be heard were given an opportunity to
be heard, and all matters and things pertaining to said pro-
posed acqu151t1on and abandonment were duly heard and considered b~' said council, <fnd said C1 ty Council has a.cqu.1red jurisdiction
to order said acquisition and abandonment; and
WHBREAS, oursuarlt to said Hesolution of Intention No. 1738,
this Council did on December 13, 1948, adopt ita Resolution
No. '1801 ordering acquisition of' eaeement8 and finally adoPting
olans and specifications for acQu!a1t1on and abandonment of
eas~ments together with engineer' R estimate of costs thereof.:

1. That the map or the lands prol')osed to be abandoned
~nder R~aolut1on or Intention No. 2457, adopted June 22, 1953,
be, and it 1s hereby finally ~dopted and approved.
2. That the pub11c interest, necessity and convenience
req•.lire, and said Council does hereby order the closing and
abandor1ment of easements described in and 1n accordance w1 th
said Resolutions or Intention, on file 1n the office of the
City Clerk or said City, ref~renee to which is hereby made for
such deser1pt1on of ea1d abandonmenta and also for further
particulare, pursuant to the provisions or Article III of said
Improvement Procedure Code, and more particularly described 1n
·sxh:1b1 t "A" hereto attached and made a part hereof by reference.

resolution adooted by the Council of the City of Palo Alto,
California, at n regular meeting thereof held on the 13th
