RESOLVED, by the Council of the City or Palo Alto, Califor-
nia~ that
WHEREAS, the Council. did on the 11th day of Pebruary,. 1952,
adopt its Resolution of Intention No. 2221 to order certain
acquisitions and improvements to be made in said City, under and
pursuant to Article V or Ordinance No. 844 of said City, adopted
January 13, 1941, entitled nPalo Alto Impr~vement PrJ~edure Code",
and to 1esue bonds P'.U'BlJant to Part 4, Bond Plan C of Article rv
of said Ordinance No. 844, reference to which resolution is hereby
made for a particular de'scription of the acquis1 tior.s and improve-
ments to be made, the boundar~es of the assessment district and
the bonds to be issued;
WHEREAS, said Resolution of Intention No. 2221 has been
duly published twice in the Palo Alto Times, a newspaper of general
circulation printed and publ1ahed in sa1d City, wherein all 'persons
interested, having any objections to the proposed acquisitions
and 1mprovemente or aga1n3t the district to be assessed for the
costs and experisea thereof, or ·against the grades at which said
work shall be dor1e, or to the Engineer' 9 estimate of the costs
and. expenses thereof, or against the diagram or .1osessment, were
notified of the time and place of the hearing as contained 1n
said resolution of intention; said resolution was duly ;ru.blisJ·.ed
wi th:tn the time and in tho.: manr.er provided ln said Improvement
Procedure Code, and as directed by said resoh1tion cf 1ntent1on,
as appears from the affidavit of publication on file in the office
or the City Clerk of said City;
WHEREAS, at the time and place f1xed for said hearing pro-
tests or obj~ct1ons were made or presented to the proposed acqu1~
s1t1ons and improvements, or to the distrlct to be assessed, or
to the grades at which said work was to be done, or to the bonds
to be is.sued to pay the costs and expenses thereof, or to the
~nglneer' e estimate of' the costs and expenses thereof, or against
the diagram or assessment, and all persons interested desiring to
be heard were given an opportunity to be heard, and all matters
and things pertaining to said proposed acqu1s1t1ona and improve-
ments were duly heard and considered by said Council, and were
overruled, and said Council ~.as acquired jur1ad1ct1on to order
sa1d acquisitions and improvements and to confirm aaid assessment
to pay the costs and expenses thereof; and
WHEREAS, on February 25, 1952, said Council adopted
Resolution No. 2235 Ordering Acqu1a1t1ons and Reserving Juris-
diction to Order Improvements and Confirm Assessment, Project
No. 51-15, Loma Verde Avenue, et al., Acquisition and Improvement;
NOW, THEREFORE, said Council d.oes hereby FIND, DETERMII-<'B
and ORDER, as follows:
1. The plans and spec1f1ca.t1ona for street improvements
under said Resolution of Intention are hereby finally adopted
and approved as the plans and spec1ficat1ons to which said work
and 1mprcvements shall be done as called for in said Resolllt1on
of Intention.

2. The Engineer's estimate of the 1tem1zed and total
estimated cost and expenses for said improvements is hereby
~1nally adopted and approved as the Engineer's total and detailed
est1wate of the coste and expenses or Baid improvements.

3. All public streets, alleys and ways in use in the per-
formance or the public function shall be omitted from the assess-
ment hereinafter to be made to cover· the cost or said acqu1s1t1ona
and improvements.
4. The public interest and convenience require, and said
Council does hereby order the improvements to be made as described
in and in accordance with said Resolution or Intention on file 1n
the office or the City Clerk of said City, reference to which is
hereby made for a more particular description of said improvements
and also for further particulars, pursuant to the provisions or
Article V of said Improvement Procedure Code.
5, The map of the assessment district, as modified, is
hereby finally adopted and approved as the map of the assessment
district, and the boundary of said assessment district as shown
thereon and aa ·modified, is hereby determined and established to
be the boundary or the assessment district to pay for the costa
and expenses or said acquisitions and improvements.
6. The assessment and diagram for the cost of expenees
of the acquisitions and improvements described in said Resolution
of Intention, as modified, are hereby ratified, approved and con-
firmed as the as8esament and d1agran1 to pay the costa and ex-
penses of said acquisitions and improvements.
7. The City Clerk shall deliver said diagram and assess-
ment .to the Superintendent of Streets, together with a certified
c.opy or this resolution thereto attached, and said Superintendent
of Streets shall thereupon record such aseeeament and diagram 1n
his office in a suitable book to be kept for that purpose and
append thereto his certificate of the date of such recording, and
such record shall be the assessment roll to pay for the coats
and expenses of said acquisitions and improvements.
8. Immed1atel;,r upon au.ch reccrdation sa1d Superintendent
of Streets shall give notice thereof by two publications in the
Palo Alto Times, a newspaper of general circulation printed and
publish~d in said City, which notice shall set forth, among other
things, that all sums assessed therein are due and payable at
h1s office immediately, and that payment thereof is to be made
to h1m within thirty days after the date of recording said
assessment, which date shall be stated in said notice, and such
other matters as are required by Section 7 of Article V of said
Improvement Procedure Code.

I hereby certify the foregoing to be a true copy of
resolution adopted by the City Council of the City of Palo
Alto, California, at a regular meeting thereof held on the 24th
day of March~ 1952, by the following vote or the m·~mbers thereof:
