WHBR.BAS, the State ot C&l1forn1a under Chapter ~7, Statutes
or l~-(4th Bxtra S•••1on), baa appropriated tunds tor :llot•nt
by the Director of Finance to provide financial assistance to Local
Agencies defined therein aa counties, c1t1ea 1 or cities and counties
for the purpose of defraying not to exceed one-halt the coet of
preparing engineering field surveys"' eng1neer1ng or architectural
designs, and working and det&l.led draw1nga and apec1t1cat1ona
(hereinafter called "Plana") required tor postwar public works
projects described as n&pee1f1c projects" in aa1d Act; and
WHltREAS8 the City ot Palo Alto"' hereinafter dealgnated as
"Local Agency", deairea to apply to the Director or Finance and/or
the State &llocation Board, as the case may be, tor an allotment
or th& State's share or the estimated cost or p~paring the completed
plans here1natter mentioned and there has been prepared and presefited
to th1s leg1dlat1ve body for consideration an application for such
purpose; and
WHEREAS, Local Agency has prov1d~d, or will make available
upon a~>proval of the aforementioned application., aurr1c1ent funds
to prepare the completed plans herein mentioned.,; n.ow, there.fore,
be it
RESOLVED, that Local A~ency submit the aforesaid application
to the Director or Finance and/or the State Allocation Board., aa the
case may be, requesting allotment of Eleven Thousand Nine Hundred
and Forty-two Dollars and Twenty Cents ($11,942.20), being not more
than one-half the cost or preparing said contem;ilted plans, or for
such amount as may be approved by the Director or Finance and/or
th~ State Allocation Board (said allotment to be used for the
purpose or defraying the cost of preparing said contemplated plans
required), ror a spee1f1c project to be undertaken by local agency
and described as City Hall.; be 1:f further
RESOLVED, that th& estimated cost of preparing such plans
1s $24,000.00, and that local agency has made provision for paying
one-half or more of the eoet of preparing such plans; be it
rurther
RESOLVED, that for the purposes or this application,
J. P.MitchellJ Mayor or the City of Palo Alto, be and he is
hereby designated as the authorized agent ot local agency and 18
hereby authorized and directed to sign the above-mentioned applica-
tion on behalf of the local agency and submit the eame to the
Director or Finance and/or the State Allocation Board together
with a cert1fied statement of the estimu.ted cost of preparing such
plane and such other information as may be required; and said
authorized a.gent is further authorized and directed as the
representative ot local agency to conduct all negotiations and
conclud~ all arrangements, including subm1as1on to the Director
or Fina.nee or appl1cat1ona for reimbursement., which may be
necessa.ry to secure reimbursement for the State's share or the
expenditures made in preparing said completed plane.
The above and foregoing resolution was duly and regularly
introduced and passed at a regular meeting of the Council of the
