OF PRELIMINARY DBTBRMINATION AND OP INTENTION TO
MAKE CHANGES AND MODIPICATIONS
PROJECT NO. 51-16

ACQUISITIO?~ A.ND IMPROVEMENT
RESOLVED, by the City Council or the City of Palo Alto,
California, that it does hereby preliminarily determine that the
public 1ntereot, convenience and neceesity require, and that 1t
is the intention of said Council to make certain changes and
mod1f1cat1ons 1n the work to be done under Resolution No. 2185
or Preliminary Determ1nat1on and Resolution No. 2223 of Intention
adopted by this Council on November 26, 1951, and February 11,
1952, respectively, to wit:

1. Modify the work to be done, the plans and spec1f1cation3
therefor, and the estimate or costs by adding the construction
of storm water catch basins, manholes, drain pipe and appurtenances
in Urban Lane from Homer Ave. northwesterly 1000 feet, more or less,
together with all work auxiliary to any or the above and which may be required to carry out the same.
2. Modify the boundaries of the assessment d15tr1ct to
add that portion of Lot 38 or Leland Stanford Jr. liJn1veI'e1ty
Properties lying southeasterly of an unnamed road, being ~ por-
t1ein of the University Avenue underpa.es structure, and that
portion or the Southern Pacific Railroad Right or Way shown on
the map or the assessment district on file in the office of the
City Clerk, to Which reference 1s hereby made for a more detailed
description of the properties hereby added and ot• the entire assess-ment district.
3. The Superintendent ot Streets shall change and modify
the plans and specifications and estimate of cost to reflect the
nbove changes, by either changing them on their race er by filing amendments thereto.
4. Modifled plans and spec1f1cat1ons and estimates of
costs, are hereby preliminarily approved and ordered filed 1n the office or the City Clerk.
Monday, the 24th day of March, 1952, at the hour of 7:30
o'clock P.M. at the Coill1c11 Chambers, City Hall, Palo Alto,
California, are hereby fixed as the time and place when and where
said Council will consider and finally determine whether the
public interest, convenience and necessity require said changes,
and when and where it will consider and finally act upon the
matter or making aaid changes and mod1f1catlons arid when and where
it will hear all protests in relation thereto.
The City Clerk shall eause a copy or this resolution to be
published twice in the Palo Alto Times, a newspaper of general
circulation published in said City, the first of which publica-
tions shall be at least ten days before the day set for hearing.
The City Clerk· shall also cause a copy of this resolution
to be posted on or near the Chamber door or the City Council at
least ten days prior to said day or hearing.
