N 0 • --22J.~ RESOLUTION OP INTXNTION FOR TH!: CLOSING OP A PORTION OP.LUCAS LANE (FORMERLY RINCON.WA STREET) IN THB CITY OP PALO .AL'l'O. The Council or the City or Palo Alto DOES RESOLVE as follows: Section 1. That it 1a the intention ot the City of Palo Alto to order the following work and improvement to be done in said city: That a portion or Lucas Lane (formerly R1nconada Street) in the City of Palo Alto, Ceunty or Santa Clara, State or California, described as follows: BEGINNING at a po1~t on the Nw'ly line of Enc1na Avenue and the SV1 ly line ot Lucas Lane (torm~rly called Rinconada Street) as shown on· that certain map entitled "Map o·r that part or the Greer Homestead 1n the Rancho R1nconada del Arroyo de San Franc1squito" recorded Mayo# 1907 in Book L. or Maps at Page 70, Ott1c1al Records or Santa Clara County; thence N. 510 45• w. along said SW'ly. line of Lucas Lan~ 142.52 feet to the SE'ly line or Lot 38 as shown on said map; thence N. 10° 47' E. 58.12 feet to the SW1 ly A1ne of Lot 39 as shown on said map; thence S. 51 45• E. 142.52 feet to a point ot tangency; thence on a curve to the left 1n a Veaterly direction having a radius of 3~.47 feet through a central angle or 114° 56•, an arc d~stance Of 69.15 .t'eet to the point Of beginning. Being a portion or Lucas Lane (formerly called Rinconada Street) aa shown on said map. Reeervj.ng a public ·utilities easement over in and upon the following described parcel: BEgINNING at a point on the SE'ly line or Lot 38 N. 70 47' E. 11.86 feet from the SV1 ly line ot Lucas Lane; thence No. 70° 47' B~ along 841d SE' ly line or Lot 38 17. 97 feet; thence S. 51 o Z~5' E. 124.99 feet; thence on a curve in a SW1 ly di- rection having a radius of ~4.47 reet, through a central angle of 25° 12 1 6Q an arc distance or 15.17 feet; thence N. 51 451 W~ 133.23 feet to the point or beginning., be closed and abandoned. Section 2. That 1n the opinion or the Council no assess-ment is necessary for this proceeding. Section 3. For a more particular description of the work to be done hereunder, rererence 1e hereby made to that certain map or plat on tile with the Suier1ntendent ot Streets or the City or Palo Alto and entitled Maptbr the closing or a por- tion or Lucas Lane• aa shown on Drawing No. 11,797. prepared by H. M. Witbeck, Street Superintendent and City Engineer ot the City or Palo Alto, on January 24, 1952. Section 5. Notice 1e hereby given that Monday, the 10th day or March, 1952. at the hour or 7:30 P.M. at the Council Chambers ot the City of Palo Alto, in the City Hall, Palo Alto, Cal1forn1a, be and the same 1a hereby eet as the day. hour and place where and when any and all persons having any objections to the proposed work or improvements may appear betore said Council and show cauee why said proposed work should not be carried out in aceordanc~ with this resolution. Section 6. The Da117 Palo Alto Times, a da~ly newspaper published and circulated in the City of Palo Alto, or general o1rculat1on, 1e hereby designated as the newspaper in which the City Clerk or the City of Palo Alto sh.all cause to be published ln the manner and form required by law~ a copy or thie Resolution ot Intention, by causing aame to 'be published twice in said news- paper prior .to the date or the hearing or objections to the pro- poeed work and improvement. Section 7. The Superintendent of Streets or said city shall cause to be eonsp1ououely posted on one side of the above mentioned street, along the line or said contemplated work and improvement, notices or the passage or this reaolut1on or in- tention 1n the time, manner and form ~reacr1bed by law. The above and torego1ng resolution was duly and regularly introduced and passed at a regular meeting or the Council of the C1ty of Palo Alto, held on the 11th day or February, 1952~ by the following vote: AYE.S: NOES: Bishop, Blo1sp Bowden, Cathcart, Gaspar, Hill, Marshall, Miller, Mitchell, Montreuil, Simpson.
