RESOLUTION O:RDKRIWG THE CLOSING OF EL
CJ\PITA.M ROAD I:N THE CITY OP PALO ALTO
B!'l'WimN ALMA STRUT AND RAMONA STRmr.r
AND BETWEE?l BRYANT STREET AND WAVERLEY STREET.
WHEREAS, the Council or the City or Palo Alto d1d on the
13th day or November, 1951, pass its Resolution of Intention
No. 2182 to order the following work and improvement done in said city, to wit:
That El Capitan Road between Alma Street and
Ramona Street, and between Bryant Street and
Waverley Street, aa shown on that certain Map
No. 1 of Stanford City, recorded May 3, 1910
in Book "M", page 97 or Official Records or Santa
Clara County, and described 1n four par-
cels ae follows:
PARCEL ONE: Between South Court {formerly called
Mhdrona Avenue) and Waverley Street (formerly
called Waverly Ave.).
PARCEL TWO: El Capitan Road between Bryant Street
(formerly called Manzanita Avenue) and South
Court (formerly called Madrona Avenue).
PARCEL THREE: El Capitan Road between Emerson Street
(formerly called Santa Clara Avenue) and Ramona
Street (formerly called Monte Vista Avenue).
PARCEL FOUR: That portion of El Capitan Road bet~een A!ma Street (formerly California Boulevard) and
Emerson Street (formerly called Santa Clara
Avenue) and described as follows, to wit:
Beg1nn1ng at the most Southerly corner or Lot
1, Block 6~ as shown on that certain Map No. 1
of Stanford City, recorded May 3, 1910J .1n Book
"M", Page 97, Official Records of Santa Clara
County; thence N. 380 15' E. along the N.W. line
of El Capitan Road 269 feet to the S.W. line of
Emerson Street, formerly called Santa Clara
Avenue; thence S. 510 45' E. 60 feet; thence s.
380 15' w. along the S. E. line or El Capitan
Road 244.11 feet to the N.W. line of Loma Verde
Avenue as 1t exists 35 feet wide; thence s. 560
42 1 W along said line of Loma Verde Avenue 26.20
feet; thence No. 510 45' W. 51.819 to the point of
beginning;
be closed and abandoned;
AND WHEREAS, the Superintendent of Streets did thereupon
cause notiO·? of the passage or said Resolution or Intention to
be posted 1n the form and manner required by law; and,

WHEREAS, the City Clerk eauaed a similar notice to be pub-
lished twice in the Palo Alto T1mee, a daily newspaper published
ar.d circulated in the City or Palo Altoa which newspaper was
designated in said Re8olut1on or Intent!on No. 2182 by the Council
as the official newspaper in which said notice should be published, and,
WHEREAS, no objections have been filed against said pro-
posed work and improvement and more than 10 dayo have elapsed
after the expiration or the publication of said notice and the
passage or said Resolution or Intention, and the City Council
has acquired jur1sd1.ot1on to order said work and improvement as proposed;
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto DOES RESOLVE as follows:
That El Capitar1 Road between Alma Street and Ramona Street,,
and between Bryant Street and Waverley Street, as ehown on that
certain Map No. 1 or Stanford City, recorded May 3, 1910, 1n
Book 11 M", page 97, of Off.1c1al Records of Santa Clara County, as here1nabove described,
be and the same is hereby closed, vacated and abandoned.
rhe above and foregoing resolution was duly and regularly
,. 1ntrod.uced and passed at a regular meeting or the Council of'
the City or Palo Alto held on the 10th day of December, 1951,
by the following vcte:
