RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Palo Alto,
California, ';hat
WHEREAS, the C1 ty Mariager of the City of ?a lo Al to, did
on the 10th day of August. 1951, publicly open, examine and de-
clare all sealed proposals or b1ds for the work to be done and
improvements to be made, ae described and specified in Resolu-
tion of Intention No. 2089 of said Council adopted April 9, 1951,
to which resolution reference 1s hereby made for a description
of said work and 1mprovementa and the materials, supplies and
equipment to be f'lrn1shed:·therefor;
WHl'.:REAS, the C1 ty Manager has reported 1s findings to t ~
Council, w'f'l-ich findings have been duly considered by said Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HER1'::BY ORDERED, as follOW3:
1. The Council hereby rejects all of said proposals or
bids except that hereinafter mentioned, and hereby awards the
contract for doing said work and making said improvemerits to the
lowest respon~lble bidder, to wit:
L. C. SMITH COMPANY
at the prices named ln its bid;
2. That the Mayor a.nd Clerk of Raid City or Palo Alto be,
nnd they are hereby, authorized to make nnd enter into a written
contract with said auccessful bidder, and to receive and approve
all bonds in connection therewith.

I hereby certify the foregoing to be a true copy of
resolution adopted by the Council of the City of Palo Alto,
California, at a regular meeting thereof held on the 27th day of
August, 1951, by the following vote:
AYES, and 1 n favor thereof, Councilmen: ·
Blois, Bowden, Bower, Cashel, Cathcart, Drysdale, Gaspar,
Hill, Marshall, Miller, Mitchell, Montreuil, Wickett,
NOES: Co11ncilmen: None.
ABSENT, Councilmen: Bishop, Simpson.
