ha21 been presented to the C1 t;v Council by the owners ot said tr21ct; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined by the City Clerk' of the
City or Palo Alto that there are less than twelve (12) regis-
tered voters residing 1n said tract as or the date or the
.f111ng or the above mentioned. petition, to wit; on the 13th day of February, 1951;
NOW, THBREI'ORE, the Council ot the City or ~alo Alto DOES RESOLVE as rollowe:
That Mondaya the 11th day or June, 1951, at the hour of
7:30 P.M., in the Council Chamber or the City Hall, in the
City or Palo Alto,, be and it is her•eby designated as the time
and place when any person owning property w1th1n such territory
so propoaed to be annexed may appear before the City Council
and ehow cause why said territory should not be annexed to the
City or Palo Alto, and who may also file written p~~teeta against
said annexat:ton; said property is described as follows:
All that eerta1n parcel of land situated in the
Cow1ty of Santa Clara, State of California, des-cribed as follows:
Beginning at the point of intersection of the East-
erly line or Newel: Road with the Northerly line or
Channing Avenue, formerly Greer Lane, said point being
distant 15 feet east trom the original center line or
Newell Road ea.id p<.'1nt or beginning being also on the
existing corporate limits or the City of Palo Alto;
thence along said corporate limits North 250.83 feet
and North 27016• 52n East 479.64 feet to the lands
conveyed by Joseph F. Greer to William E. Haley by Deed
recorded May 17, 1905 in Book 295 or Deeds, page 280,
records or Santa Clara County, Cal1forn1a; thence along
the Southwesterly H.ne or land conveyed to W1111am E.
Haley, South 620 JJ3 1 o8" Ea.st 299.85 feet; thence par-
allel to the center line of Newell Road South 270 1611
52" West 4o6.87 feet; thence South 178.06 feet to the
Northerly line of Channing Avenue; thence along said
Northerly line of Channing Avenue West 299.85 feet to the point or beginning.
which property 1s located entirely within the County or Santa
Clara; which property is hereby designated as the Greer Addition.
That said petition was signed by the owners or more than
one-fourth of the area or the land in the territory proposed
to be annexed, which owners represent more than one-fourth of
the assessed value or said territory according to the last
preceding equalized assessment roll or the County or Santa Clara.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be and she is
hereby directed to publish a copy or th1s resolution once a
